Saturday (8:00-1:00pm), Sunday 10:00am-2:00pm) Freight House Farmers Market at 421 W. River Drive, Davenport, . Over 100 growers, bakers, crafters, and artisans will have their wares for sale. This is the largest Farmer's Market in the . During the spring, summer and fall the Freight House Farmer's market is held outdoors and indoors. During November through April the Farmer's Market in the Freight House is open indoors. You will find farm fresh fruits, vegetables, delicious baked goods, poultry, beef, lamb, pork, cheese, wine, eggs, honey, jams, jellies, dips and salsas, candy, fresh cut and dried flowers, seeds, bedding plants, annuals and perennials, house plants, amazing art pieces, homemade soaps, doggie treats, beautiful heritage quality crafts, and you could even enjoy a massage from a licensed massage therapist. The offerings change as the seasons do, so you are always sure to find a new treasure to enjoy!

September 1, 2: The Rock Island Grand Prix will be held in the Entertainment District in Rock Island, 1821-2nd Ave., Rock Island, Illinois. The world's best drivers come to compete for one of go-karting's largest cash purses with payouts through ninth place. Last year, more than 30,000 spectators came to experience the two days of racing. The festival includes nightly outdoor concerts, driver's parade, fan autograph session and special Sunday post-race awards ceremony. There are also food and merchandise booths, kid's activities and other race-related activities.

September 1, 2 : 10:00am-5:00pm Quad Cities Comic Con will be held at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621-4th Ave., Rock Island, Illinois. The Quad Cities Comic Con returns and is bigger and better than ever! This September 1st and 2nd, the Quad Cities Comic Con is taking over the QCCA Expo Center at 2621 4th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201. With an incredible 30,000 square feet of geeky goodness, the Quad Cities Comic Con will feature over 100 artist tables, vendor booths, and special guests. But we're also bringing cash prize cosplay contests, gaming tournaments, and a whole weekend of fun! The event takes place at the QCCA Expo Center, 2621 4th Ave, Rock Island, IL 61201 from 10 to 6 on Saturday, and 10 to 5 on Sunday. The last time this vessel visited the Quad Cities was 10 years ago, and it saw over 16,000 visitors when it was here. Tours of the ship will be available daily from August 30 through September 3, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will last approximately 45 minutes. Tour prices are Adults $10; Ages 6-17 $5; 5 years and under and WWII Veterans are free. Group ticket pricing is available. For more information on the ship, visit www.LSTmemorial.org . The ship will be docked on the next to the Isle Casino and Hotel. The ship is just short of the length of a football field and measures 50 feet across! The LST-325 was launched on October 27, 1942, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ship operated in the North Africa area and participated in the invasions at Gela, Sicily and Salerno, Italy. On June 6, 1944, LST-325 became part of the largest armada in history by participating in the D-Day invasion at Omaha Beach. It carried 59 vehicles, 31 officers and a total of 408 enlisted men on that first trip. On its first trip back to England from France, the LST-325 hauled 38 casualties back to a friendly port. Over the next nine months, Navy records show LST-325 made more than 40 trips back and forth across the English Channel, carrying thousands of men and pieces of equipment that troops needed to successfully complete the liberation of Europe. The ship continued to run supply trips between England and France before returning to the in March 1945. LST-325 is the last navigable LST in operation in the U.S. She is undergoing constant maintenance and restoration, and is in tip-top shape, according to her crew.

September 8: 10:00am-4:00pm The Heritage Tractor Parade will begin at 10 a.m. in front of the John Deere Pavilion on River Drive and will proceed to 19th Street, then on to 5th Avenue, and down 12th Street. The tractors will return to the Pavilion along River Drive where they will be on display until 4 p.m. Heritage tractor owners interested in participating should contact Kristen Veto at 309-765-1000 or by email at [email protected]. All brands, models and colors of tractors are welcome to participate in this event and registrations are now being accepted. Registration and participation is free. The only requirement for participation is the equipment entered must be from 1970 or earlier. This is a free activity.

September 8, 9 : 10:00am-5:00pm The Beaux Arts Fund Committee has been celebrating its’ 65th year with their bi-annual art fairs this year. The Beaux Arts Fall Art Fair will be held September 8 and 9, 2018, on the Bechtel Plaza of the in Davenport. The Fall art fair is a perfect time to begin your Christmas shopping with truly unique gifts. With over 65 artists, food, music, children’s spin art, and 65th Anniversary activities, it will be an enjoyable family activity. Admission is free to both the art fair and the art museum all weekend. Hours are Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-4. The Beaux Arts Fund Committee, Inc. is a non-profit group of volunteers who donates all profits to the Figge Art Museum to help fund exhibitions and educational programs. September 14: 6:00pm-8:30pm The Country Hoedown will be held at the Veteran’s Memorial in Bettendorf, 2204 Grant Street. Two step your way down to the Bandshell at Veterans Memorial Park in Bettendorf for a night of dinner and dancing. This event is co-sponsored by Davenport and Bettendorf Parks and Recreation. $5 Admission fee, payable at the door includes dinner and this includes staff. There is No Rain date or location for this event.

September 14, 15: Friday (3:00pm-8:00pm0 and Saturday (9:00am-9:00pm) The Celtic Festival and Highland Games will be held in Centennial Park, 905 West River Drive, Davenport, Iowa. This event gives free access to the Celtic culture and all it has to offer. Cultural education is given by Highland Clans and Societies to help our guests learn of clan heritage, whether they belong or not. The Irish and Scottish Athletic Competitions are the traditional 'battles of brawn' that have been played for more than 300 years. Recently, the Celtic Cultures Alliance of the Quad Cities has added a full- length rugby game with the Quad-City Irish Rugby team. There are performances with Celtic bands, singers and dancers that highlight and show guests the splendor of the Celtic entertainment world, while at the same time educating them. Workshops and educational presentations are done throughout the event and are offered for all age groups. There are family activities, children’s games, and storytelling for all who want to hear the tales. Dance competitions showcase the region's talented dancers of all ages . Admission is free.

September 15, 22, 23 : 12:00pm-6:00pm Go Kart Races at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. Admission is free . Food and beverages will be sold.

September 21, 22: The Quad City Balloon Festival will take place at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds, 4200 Archer Drive, East Moline, Illinois. This family friendly event is free to attend with a canned good or non-perishable good donation. All proceeds from the QC Balloon Festival are used to support the River Bend Foodbank Backpack Program. FRIDAY: The event begins with a balloon launch at 5:00 p.m. to watch the balloons inflate and fly. Then stay enjoy a Night Glow at 6:30 p.m. when the tethered balloons' colors light up in the night. You can come up close to these gentle giants, take pictures and talk to the pilots during the Glow. SATURDAY: The morning begins at with a closed flight/race at 7:00 a.m for the pilots. On Saturday evening, the balloons launch at 5:00 p.m. and then return to the field for a Night Glow at 6:30 p.m. SUNDAY: The event ends at with a closed flight/race at 7:00 a.m for the pilots. September 23 : Quad City Marathon and Festival of Races will begin at the John Deere Commons, 1400 River Drive, Moline, Illinois. 7 Races (Marathon, Half Marathon, 5- Person Marathon Relay, 1 Mile Walk, 5K Run/Walk, and kids micro marathon, Pump N Run) 2 States (Iowa, Illinois) 1 Island ( Island) all along the beautiful views of the Mississippi River. September 28: 6:00pm-9:00pm The Friday Night Jam will take place at Roosevelt Community Center, 1220 Minnie Ave., Davenport. Come on out to Roosevelt Community Center for our Friday Night Jam!! On the Fourth Friday of each month, you can join us for pizza, lemonade, board games, karaoke, and Wii games! New this summer, Davenport BUILDS will join us! Participants will be able to create Lego Masterpieces. Best of all, it is ONLY $4/person! (must arrive by 6:30 pm to order dinner) Includes 2 slices of pizza and lemonade for each person.

September 29, 30: 11:00am-6:00pm The Quad Cities Renaissance Faire will be held on , 2200 West River Drive, Davenport, Iowa. A new and larger location for this family-fun festival offers three stages of professional shows, three living history encampments, inter-active lawn games, a food court, beer garden, games of skill, children's faerie realm, a large artisan market, active demonstrations, contests and a hundred costumed village characters. September 30: 1:00pm-5:00pm The Harvest Moon Song And Dance Fest will be held at the Dan Nagle Walnut Grove Pioneer Village, 18817-290 th Street in Long Grove, Iowa. Featuring 100 years of Rural American Music: Tradional, Bluegrass, Fiddle, Banjo, Folk and Country. This is an outdoor festival rain or shine.
