Under new management we aim to provide a first-class zoo experience dedicated to inspire in people a respect for animals, the environment and the world in which we live, delivered through authentic experiences and sustainable practices. We employ a talented team who are passionate about welfare, conservation, and education. Our 51-acre zoological park in the heart of the beautiful Lake District is home to over 1000 exotic and endangered species in beautiful naturalistic surroundings that bring the visitor closer to nature. We are looking for a full-time Zoo Veterinarian to assist in the development of our veterinary services and support our high standards of welfare. This post will focus principally on developing preventative health care programmes whilst providing day-to-day care for the animals in the collection. It will include mentoring and support for the Animal Department and other animal related programmes operated by the wider business. Closing date: 17th February 2017. The necessary inspection of the Zoo was undertaken on 16th, 17th and 18th January 2017 in parallel to an inspection which was undertaken for the fresh licence application from the current licence holder, Mr David Gill. Inspectors verbally recommended on 18th January 2017 that CZCL be refused a licence at that time, and CZCL subsequently withdrew their application. On 23rd January 2017 the Council received a further valid application from Cumbria Zoo Company Limited for an original licence to operate South Lakes Safari Zoo. An inspection was carried out on the 13th & 14th March 2017, resulting in the Zoo Inspectors recommending that an original licence should be granted. Members should note that an original licence will last for 4 years. It was easy to use this proven materials and methods to create and manufacture the perfect Fiber Palm tile. We only changed the shape and colours of the extruded material from a round to a leave like shape. We changed and refined the synthetic leaves until we matched all the different types of palm leaves imageable. Still nothing was taken for granted. After we had the perfect Fiber Palm tile the tiles were tested again for quality, durability, wind uplift, UV and fire rating. The results were identical to the Fiber Reed tiles with its perfect 20 years track record. Only then the tiles were introduced to the global market.
