The Niceville-Valparaiso Kiwanis Club distributed 630 apples to local teachers and staff in Niceville on May 17. The volunteers passed out the apples at Edge, Plew and Bluewater Elementary Schools, Ruckel and Lewis Middle Schools, Niceville High School and Rocky Bayou Christian School. The gift was a token of appreciation to school teachers and staff for all their hard work throughout the year. Judy Boudreaux, pictured, places an Courtesy photo apple in a teacher's mailbox.

Rocky Classical League elects officers Courtesy photo

Rocky Bayou Christian Academy Junior Classical League recently elected new officers for the 2012-2013 school year. Audrey Stevens is the newly elected President, with Tim Sung serving as Vice President, Shiloh Johns as Secretary, Casey Young as Treasurer, Connor Lynch as Parliamentarian, and Savannah West as Chaplain. Next year the club is chairing a new position, Art Liaison for the Forum, to be co-organized by Mandy Hart and Jessica Sandlin from the Academy Art Club. Julie Mosley remains the faculty sponsor.

'Outstanding' Niceville student Madison Brake, right, a freshman at Niceville High School, was recently presented an Outstanding Volunteer Award by Helen Rigdon, district representa- tive for Congressman Jeff Miller, R-Fla. Madison received the award for her involvement at Niceville High School and in the community.
