Weekly COVID-19 Surveillance Report in Leicestershire Cumulative data from 01/03/2020 - 29/09/2021 This report summarises the information from the surveillance system which is used to monitor the cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Leicestershire. The report is based on daily data up to 29th September 2021. The maps presented in the report examine counts and rates of COVID-19 at Middle Super Output Area. Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs) are a census based geography used in the reporting of small area statistics in England and Wales. The minimum population is 5,000 and the average is 7,200. Disclosure control rules have been applied to all figures not currently in the public domain. Counts between 1 to 5 have been suppressed at MSOA level. The Council exists to bring local history to the doorstep of all interested people in Leicester and Leicestershire, to provide for them opportunities of meeting together, to act as a co-ordinating body between the various Societies in the County and to promote the advancement of local history studies. A series of local history meetings is arranged throughout the year and the programme is varied to include talks, film meetings, outdoor excursions and an annual Members' Evening held near Christmas. The Council also encourages and supports local history exhibitions; a leaflet giving advice on the promotion of such an exhibition is available from the Secretary. The different categories of membership and the subscriptions are set out below. The questionnaire was 20 sides of A4 in length including the instructions, guidance notes providing further background and context and a map of the designated area. Those completing the Parish of Desford Neighbourhood Plan Questionnaire also had the opportunity to enter a free prize draw. -

DESFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN 2018-2036 Made May 2021 1 | P a g e Foreword Desford Parish Council took the decision to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan to enable the local community to gain control over the shape of development in the Parish. The Parish Council felt that, if development was going to have to happen in Desford, that Desford’s residents deserved the opportunity to say what this development should look like and to be involved in shaping the future of the Parish in which they live. The concept of a Neighbourhood Plan was promoted and a Working Group formed. With professional help, funded by grant applications, the Working Group has produced a number of planning policies and community actions that will help shape future development in Desford. A very positive ‘side effect’ of the plan has been the relationships created, developed and strengthened both in the villages and with many other organisations too numerous to list. The Parish Council has been able to incorporate into the Neighbourhood Plan the views, opinions and aspirations of residents and businesses in Desford, leading to the development of the Community Actions within this Plan. Most importantly the Neighbourhood Plan shows the residents’ vision for their Parish and for their future. HINCKLEY & BOSWORTH DISTRICT PROFILE JANUARY 2010 JSNA District Level Report JSNA findings for Hinckley and Bosworth 1. Demography In 2007 there were an estimated 104,400 people resident in Hinckley and Bosworth. 95% of the population is white British and 2% is White Other. Hinckley and Bosworth is affected by socio-economic deprivation with 7.1% of the population living in neighbourhoods that have been classified as deprived nationally (4th quintile). However, there are no residents within the most deprived quintile within this district. Whilst this is similar to the value for Leicestershire it is well below the national average of 20% of people. Priority Neighbourhoods Hinckley and Bosworth has five priority neighbourhoods, Earl Shilton, Barwell, Hinckley, Burbage and Bagworth. Maps of the priority neighbourhoods are available on the Leicestershire Statistics and Research Online website: http://www.lsr-online.org/reports/leicestershire_laa_priority_neighbourhoods 2. Housing and accommodation needs Hinckley and Bosworth is a mostly rural area. The main settlements, Hinckley, Barwell, and Earl Shilton, are fairly different . Using Output Area Classifications to gain a general view suggests that Hinckley contains more higher income households and Earl Shilton is relatively more working class, but these are generalisations and cover a substantial variety. Most of the children of school age in the main settlements are White British. The largest ethnic minority groups are ‘Other White’ and ‘Asian/British Indian’. Properties in the main settlements are mainly owner occupied 3 bed houses, though there are significant numbers of both 2 bed flats and houses. There is very little private rented property (though this is likely to have increased since 2001) throughout the borough. -

Desford Hall Lodges, Leicester Lane, Desford Asset Type: Building Construction Date: c. 1875 Architect: Unknown Original Use: Hall lodges Current Use: Residential Condition: Good Occupancy: Occupied Ward: Newbold Verdon with Desford and Peckleton Parish: Desford NGR: SK 50190 02265 & SK 50349 02299 Selection Criteria: Historic value: illustrative interest / Aesthetic value: architectural interest / Integrity / Landmark quality / Group value Reason for Designation: Two former lodges to Desford Hall now converted into residential use. The grade II listed Hall was constructed as a small country house in c.1875 (then known as Forest House, reverting to being known as Desford Hall by 1900) and was converted to offices c.1980. The two lodges are located at the southern corners of the Hall grounds and are good illustrative examples of a functional building serving a small estate. Architecturally the lodges were constructed with Queen Anne influences, interest remains in their steeply pitched roofs with Dutch gables, white brick laid in a Flemish bond with segmental arches, sections of herringbone, circles and cross brickwork in the gables, a dentil eaves course, stone windows surrounds, copings, finials and string courses, and tall gable, ridge and axial chimney stacks. Despite some alterations including modern windows and concrete tile roofs, and some extensions to each lodge, the integrity of the original construction remains. The lodge located to the south-west of the Hall grounds is located at the driveway to the Hall from Leicester Lane and has a visual prominence ensuring it can be singled out as a landmark within the local street scene. The lodges have a clear historic relationship with the grade II listed Hall and are the result of a deliberate design.
