COL will have drills to practice school safety in a variety of scenarios throughout the year. Types of drills include fire, lockdown, weather, heightened security. Pay attention to announcements concerning emergency announcements via Polk State notifications.

SGA will have a Halloween costume contest on 31. Students in appropriate costumes should come by room 116 to have their picture taken and to be entered for a prize. Free Pelican snowcones will also be available after school on the patio. Treats will also be distributed 2nd period.

Polk State Chain of Lakes Collegiate High School is sponsoring the third annual gift basket fund raiser for the COL Student Activity Account, which supports activities and initiatives of COL clubs. By purchasing a $1.00 treat at Fall Fest on Saturday, , on the Winter Haven campus or at the high school office during school hours (Monday – Friday, 7:15am to 3:30pm), you’ll be entered to win one of the gift baskets. A $20.00 donation will earn you 25 tickets.

COL annual coat drive is Oct 29 – Nov 16. Bring outerwear in good condition to the COL office to be donated to a local charity.
