Haunted - Smallville Wiki Smallville: Season 11 is a comic book series published by DC Comics that maintains the continuity of the Smallville television series and details Clark Kent 's adventures as the costumed hero Superman after the events of the Season 10 Finale. The series features a unique publishing model, split between traditional print publication and digital release online and through mobile apps. For the primary story arcs, referred to as "episodes," digital chapters are released each Friday for a three-week period. During the fourth week, the three chapters are collected in a print issue released on the industry standard Wednesday new comic day. On January 4,the series moved to a weekly release schedule without breaks. The primary story arc cycle is maintained with additional digital chapters of supplemental "parallel" story arcs released every fourth Friday. It was announced on September 6,that the Season 11 title will end, but that the continuity of the series would continue through various miniseries. Six months after Clark Kent donned the cape and took to the skies to save Earth from Apokolips New allies abound! New enemies a-foot! Originally planned Smallville Season 11: Haunted Volume 3 be released every fourth Friday, these digital chapters of supplemental story arcs were introduced following the third primary story, Hauntedto feature other heroes and supporting characters in an effort to expand the Smallville universe. While considered a separate "episode," these "parallel" stories [5] are comprised of only four chapters and run Smallville Season 11: Haunted Volume 3 parallel to the primary long-form story arc. While there isn't a set practice for when the parallel story chapters break up their partner primary arc, often two of the four chapters of each story will run in consecutive weeks. As originally conceived, the chapters were to be released exclusively in digital format and not published in print editions to preserve the regular printing schedule of the primary story arcs. Though the Season 11 title banner will cease with the conclusions of both the Hollow parallel story and the Olympus main arc, the continuity will be continued through various mini-series that will continue the current digital-print format. Parallel stories will be printed under the title Smallville Special. Miller on September 6,that the Smallville: Season 11 moniker would not be used any longer after the Olympus arc. Subsequent stories will Smallville Season 11: Haunted Volume 3 released as their own miniseries, maintaining and furthering Smallville Season 11: Haunted Volume 3 continuity of the previous title i. Each miniseries features unique chapter numbering. The format of nine-to-twelve chapter main stories interspersed with four-chapter parallel stories also continues. Moreover, in the printed issues of each main storyline the Season 11 moniker is still used on the title, even though it is not used in the digital issues for example the first digital issue of Alien is inscribed as Smallville: Alien 1 but its first printed issue is inscribed as Smallville Season Alien 1. Also the printed issue of each parallel storyline continues the previous numbering as it is considered an one-shot and does not have subsequent issues for example the first digital issue of Titans is inscribed as Smallville: Titans 1 or Smallville Special: Titans 1 but its printed issue is inscribed as Smallville Season 11 Special 4. The number of appearances in parentheses counts all 19 print issues of the regular Season 11 comic, the three print Season 11 specials, Smallville Season 11: Haunted Volume 3 16 print issues of the miniseries comics, and the two print miniseries specials. ‘Nothing but the Truth’: Genre, Gender and Knowledge in the US Television Crime Drama 2005-2010 Hannah Ellison Submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) University of East Anglia School of Film, Television and Media Studies Submitted January 2014 ©This copy of the thesis has been supplied on condition that anyone who consults it is understood to recognise that its copyright rests with the author and that no quotation from the thesis, nor any information derived therefrom, may be published without the author's prior, written consent. 2 | Page Hannah Ellison Abstract Over the five year period 2005-2010 the crime drama became one of the most produced genres on American prime-time television and also one of the most routinely ignored academically. This particular cyclical genre influx was notable for the resurgence and reformulating of the amateur sleuth; this time remerging as the gifted police consultant, a figure capable of insights that the police could not manage. I term these new shows ‘consultant procedurals’. Consequently, the genre moved away from dealing with the ills of society and instead focused on the mystery of crime. Refocusing the genre gave rise to new issues. Questions are raised about how knowledge is gained and who has the right to it. With the individual consultant spearheading criminal investigation, without official standing, the genre is re-inflected with issues around legitimacy and power. The genre also reengages with age-old questions about the role gender plays in the performance of investigation. With the aim of answering these questions one of the jobs of this thesis is to find a way of analysing genre that accounts for both its larger cyclical, shifting nature and its simultaneously rigid construction of particular conventions.

  • AKA Clark Kent) Middle Name Is Joseph
Superman’s (AKA Clark Kent) Middle Name Is Joseph. What’s that?! There in the sky? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s the Man of Tomorrow! Superman has gone by many names over the years, but one thing has remained the same. He has always stood for what’s best about humanity, all of our potential for terrible destructive acts, but also our choice to not act on the level of destruction we could wreak. Superman was first created in 1933 by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel, the writer and artist respectively. His first appearance was in Action Comics #1, and that was the beginning of a long and illustrious career for the Man of Steel. In his unmistakable blue suit with red cape, and the stylized red S on his chest, the figure of Superman has become one of the most recognizable in the world. The original Superman character was a bald telepathic villain that was focused on world domination. It was like a mix of Lex Luthor and Professor X. Superman’s powers include incredible strength, the ability to fly. X-ray vision, super speed, invulnerability to most attacks, super hearing, and super breath. He is nearly unstoppable. However, Superman does have one weakness, Kryptonite. When exposed to this radioactive element from his home planet, he becomes weak and helpless. Superman’s alter ego is mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent. He lives in the city of Metropolis and works for the newspaper the Daily Planet. Clark is in love with fellow reporter Lois Lane.

It argues that this connection was not integral to the character as he was originally created, but was imposed by later writers over time and mainly for cinematic adaptations. This thesis also tracks the history of how Christians and churches viewed Superman, as the film studios began to exploit marketing opportunities by comparing Superman and Jesus. This thesis uses the methodological framework of intertextuality to ground its treatment of the sources, but does not follow all of the assumptions of intertextual theorists. iii MA Thesis—Robert Revington; McMaster University, Religious Studies ABSTRACT This thesis examines the historical trajectory of how the comic book character of Superman came to be identified as a Christ figure in popular consciousness. Superman was created in 1938, but the character developed significantly from his earliest incarnations.

British actor Julian Sands is frequently seen world- wide in films, on stage, and on television. He trained in London at The Central School of Speech and Drama and has appeared in over 100 films including; The Killing Fields, A Room With A View, Impromptu, Leaving Las Vegas, Arachnophobia, Oceans 13, and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. On television, he is best known for his role on 24 but has also been seen on Dexter, Smallville, Ghost Whisperer and Banshee. In 2005, Julian Sands was approached by the Nobel Prize winning playwright and poet Harold Pinter, to prepare a selection of his poems for a special presentation in London. Pinter “apprenticed” Mr. Sands, spending hours sharing his feelings on how his work should be delivered. Every pause, every nuance in tone, had, and has meaning. A bond was established between these two artists- one that gives a distinctive and very personal voice to Pinter’s words. This extraordinary collaboration became the foundation for a wonderfully rich, humorous, and fascinating solo show directed by John Malkovich- A Celebration of Harold Pinter. Performances at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011 and in New York at The Irish Repertory Theatre were followed by engagements at Steppenwolf in Chicago, Herbst Theatre in San Francisco as well as in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Budapest, London, and Paris. This is an evening of Homeric theater with an extraordinary actor, great words, and an audience. Devoid of pretension or glittery trappings, A Celebration of Harold Pinter gets to the soul of the man- poet, playwright, husband, political activist, Nobel winner, mortal.

"Our results show that we are able to use body motion when other cues are ambiguous or unavailable—so we basically assume that we can use body motion as a reliable cue to identity when other information is less available or reliable such as when a person is far away or when they're in bad lighting conditions. The study was the first of its kind to use life-like avatars to get to the bottom of how we are so good at recognising each other. Dr Karin Pilz, from the School of Psychology at the University of Aberdeen said: "The current perception is that identity recognition is usually done on faces alone but obviously body motion is also important because we usually see people as whole bodies! Chasing The Dream by Ashlee Winston. Shelve Spider-Man: Life Story. Emil asks Terri to come into the operating room as her husband wants her, but is kicked out by Lex's security guards. The writing doesn't feel remotely like Smallville to me. Lex explains that the country needs to defend itself just as the Russians have now done by placing the Korolyov in orbit, that Lane needs to push through contracts with the Secretary of Defense to get the LexCorp Guardian orbital weapons platforms built. Lois is written as a parody of herself, and Clark seems very off. Jul 11, M.
