Printing the pattern:

1. Select “actual size” to print out the pattern pages on letter sized paper. 2. Cut out each pattern shape along outer dashed lines. 3. Use an awl or something pointy to poke a small hole in the pattern pieces where there is a dot. This allows you to accurately transfer the dot onto the fabric. 4. There are more detailed instructions for printing and resizing at the end of the pattern. 5. The mane is a larger pattern piece that is printed on two or more pages and you will need to tape them together before you will be able to use them. So cut out each piece on the cutting line but leave the edge of the paper uncut so you can tape them together on the provided lines.

Enlarging

Resizing

If you want to make a larger or smaller 1 version of the softie you can scale it using your printer. To enlarge the 2 pattern click on “poster” and the 3 percentage you want to enlarge it in the “Tile Scale” box. Select the options “Cut Marks” and “Labels”. “Cut Marks” add little lines in the corner to show where you should cut to more easily line up the pieces back together 4 since they won’t be on the individual patter pieces. “Labels” will add a little label in the corner of each page to number each poster piece to better Reducing know which go together. Both those options are very handy. Click “Print”.

To reduce the size of the softie in the “Page Sizing and Handling” select “Custome Scale” and indicate the percentage you would like to shrink the pattern pieces by. Click “Print”. 1

2 Tip: Press Tab after adding your changed percentage to show it on the preview. 3

Before you can use the scaled patterns you will need to adjust the seam allowance back to 1/4 of an inch. Re-add a 1/4” seam allowance by drawing 1/4” away from the sewing line all around each pattern piece. Then cut it out on that drawn line.

Alternately, you can cut each pattern piece along the sewing line as a template without redrawing the cutting line but don’t forget to add the 1/4” seam allowance when cutting out each piece.
