Ultimate Canada version 1, approved 2019 Each Selection Committee is responsible for establishing their own selection criteria. While the selection process is left up to the committees, there are some general requirements from Ultimate Canada to ensure there is a fair and reasonable process.

Ultimate Canada requires each Selection Committee to submit a Team Selection Document, no later than September 13th, 2019, which will include the following information:

- WFDF eligibility requirements for their specific division; - Timeline for selecting players for the national team, which includes when players will be offered spots on the roster and when alternates will be chosen; - Expected commitment level (practices, tournaments attended, etc.). This can be different for in- region and out-of-region team members (i.e. out-of-region players do not need to attend X practices a week, but must come to training camp Y and tournament Z). Alternates should be aware of the commitment expected of them in the role as an alternate as well as the latest date that they may be called up on to the team roster; - Approximate level of financial commitment, including coach expenses/reimbursement; - Objective selection criteria and evaluation method; - Athletes attributes and Team Composition/Roles that the Selection Committee is looking for; - Tryout schedule, including drills and evaluations that will be performed.

Selection Committees are invited to use the 2017 World Games Team Selection Document as a template to create their own document. Once approved by Ultimate Canada, the Team Selection Document will be sent to all applicants for each respective teams.
