Cyclone 'Hudhud' in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha and provision under MPLADS Guidelines for recommending permissible works.

The Government of has informed that the calamity caused by Cyclone 'Hudhud' in coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha is a ‘Calamity of severe nature’ for all practical purposes.

2 Attention of Members is drawn towards Para 2.8 of the Guidelines on MPLAD Scheme which inter-alia provides that in the event of ‘Calamity of severe nature’ in any part of the country, an MP can recommend works up to a maximum of Rs. 1 crore for the affected district. The funds in this regard will be released by the District Authority of Nodal district of the MP concerned to the District Authority of the affected district to get permissible works done. The Works Completion Report, Audit Certificate and Utilization Certificate for such works and funds will be provided by the District Authority of the affected districts directly to the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation for overall reconciliation. No separate UC/AC/Completion Report in respect of the transferred amount would be required from the Nodal District authority in this regard while processing release of subsequent installment of MPLADS funds. ————

(a) The Merchant Shipping (Amendment) Bill, 2013. (b) The Merchant Shipping (Second Amendment) Bill, 2013.

2. Consideration and passing of the following Bills, as passed by :-

(a) The Indian Institutes of Information Technology Bill, 2014. (b) The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2014. (c) The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014.

3. Consideration and passing of the Textiles Undertakings (Nationalisation) Laws (Amendment and Validation) Bill, 2014, after it is passed by Lok Sabha.

4. Consideration and return of the Appropriation Bill relating to the Supplementary Demands for Grants (General) for 2014-15, after it is passed by Lok Sabha.

Avoiding Disturbance in the sound system

It has been observed that some Hon. Members do not turn off the volume knob of their earphones while leaving their seats, which causes disturbance in the sound system in the House. Hon. Members are, therefore, requested to turn the knob to the left while leaving their seats.
