041. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST None were received.

042 PLANNING APPLICATIONS (a) 042143 Kelsterton Farm, Kelsterton, Flint (Amended) Proposed change of use of agricultural land to new cemetery

(b) 045082 26 Lindale Close, Connah’s Quay Proposed erection of a two storey extension to the side elevation

RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk writes to the Chief Planning Services Officer informing him that the Town Council has no objections in respect of applications (a) and (b).

(c) 044302 Nightingale House Hospice, 57 High Street, Connah’s Quay Proposed change of use from A1 to A3 RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk writes to the Chief Planning Services Officer informing him that the Town Council objects to this application (c) on the following grounds:- (i) The limited parking in proximity of premises. (ii) The limited parking and proximity to traffic lights would create an additional traffic flow hazard and (iii) Saturation of the number of Fast Food outlets in this vicinity. - 17 -

(d) 044967 The Station, Church Street, Connah’s Quay Proposed demolition of existing building and re- development of the former fire station to provide 24 one/two bedroom starter units in two, two and half and three storey blocks with associated road, landscaping and drainage works Copy letter dated 9 June 2008 addressed to the Chief Planning Services Officer, County Council from Mrs F M. Donald forwarded to Councillors with the Agenda. RECOMMENDED: That the Clerk writes to the Chief Planning informing him that the Town Council reiterates its previous objections to this application (d):- (i) saturation of site (ii) height of proposal (iii) insufficient parking (iv) existing properties dominated by structure (v) access to/from the site onto a busy main road – visibility easterly up Church Street. and (vi) retention as a business unit

043. WEPRE PARK The Clerk read out letter dated 19 June 2008 from Barry Davies, County Legal and Democratic Services Officer which stated that the Alcohol Exclusion Order at Wepre Park will take effect from the 30 June 2008 and the signs have now been erected.

RESOLVED: That the letter be received.

044. YOUTH WORKER Councillor R.P. MacFarlane reported his concerns regarding reduced resources at the Connah’s Quay Sports Centre have been withdrawn at the expense of Buckley and this has been passed by the Executive Committee today and that he and Councillor J.B. Attridge have e-mailed the Chief Executive with their concerns who has in turn replied stating that he has no intention of withdrawing this decision. He further stated that Connah’s Quay is the largest town in Flintshire and yet resources are being moved from one town to another.

Councillor A.J. Roberts also expressed his dissatisfaction that the Youth Club will only be open for two nights which means that Connah’s Quay resources are being cut by a third.

RESOLVED:- That the Clerk write to the Chief Executive expressing the Town Council’s grave concerns and following confirmation a Press Release be released.
