IST PRESS RELEASE No.8 Gradual reduction in Rainfall Activity over Maharashtra Monsoon remained active to vigorous over most parts of Maharashtra yesterday. Most parts of Konkan- Goa and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra received widespread rainfall with heavy to very rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls. Fairly widespread moderate rainfall occurred over Marathwada. Weather Systems Prevailing: A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the above Low Pressure Area to north Gujarat Region across Madhya Pradesh between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Jharkhand and adjoining areas of north Chhattisgarh & Odisha now lies as a Low Pressure Area over Jharkhand & adjoining north Chhattisgarh with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level. The offshore trough at mean sea level now runs from Karnataka coast to Kerala coast. Due to the west north westward movement of the low pressure area, gradual reduction in the rainfall activity is expected over Maharashtra during next 4-5 days. District wise Forecast and Warnings: Updates on the district wise forecast and warnings for the region during next 5 days are as follows: Fishermen Warning: Warning for North Maharashtra coast: Strong winds with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail along and off North Maharashtra Coast on 24th, 27th and 28th July 2021. Fishermen are advised not to venture along and off North Maharashtra coast during above mentioned period. Warning for South Maharashtra –Goa coast: Strong winds with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely to prevail along and off South Maharashtra Coast on 24th,27th and 28th July 2021. High Wave Alerts from INCOIS: High waves in the range of 2.8- 3.9 meters are predicted during 17:30 hours on 23-07-2021 to 23:30 hours of 25-07-2021 along the coast from Malvan to Vasai of Maharashtra coast. High waves in the range of 2.7- 3.6 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 23-07-2021 to 23:30 hours of 25-07-2021 along the coast of Goa between Vengurla to Vasco. High waves in the range of 3.0- 4.2 meters are forecasted during 17:30 hours on 23-07-2021 to 23:30 hours of 25-07-2021 along the coast from Jakhau to Diu Head of Gujarat coast. Port Warning for Maharashtra- Goa coast: Lower Signal number LC-III at all ports from Dahanu to Marmugao along and off Maharashtra- Goa coast. Impact expected: Localized inundation/flooding of low-lying areas and urban areas. Possibility of flash floods in some areas. Minor damage to Kutcha roads. Possible uprooting of weak trees and collapse of old and unmaintained structures. Landslide/Mudslides and rock falls in vulnerable areas. Disruption to road, rail, air and ferry transport. Local disruption of municipal services (Water, electricity etc.) Flow of water over low-lying roads and bridges. Damage to horticulture and standing crops due to water inundation. Patil Sangludkar Mahavidyalaya Daryapur, Dist: Amaravati Abstract: The main objective of paper is to explore the diversity of spider fauna from vicinity of Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary of Kolhapur District from different habitats. Spiders are found in all parts of the world except Antartic region. They are polyphagous in nature. Survey was conducted for a period of two year from December 2014 to January 2016 and was able to observe 105 species of spiders belonging to 24 families. In which highest number of species belonging to Araneidae (20) followed by Theridiidae (14), Salticidae (11), Thomisidae (10), Lycosidae (6) and Oxyopidae (6).
