We have bowls from 7 different celebrities: Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, KeeganMichael Key, Gillian Anderson, Justin Baldoni, Kristen Bell and Jim Harbaugh/John Wangler. The auction will end at the Grand Opening of our new building on Rosa Parks Blvd. on September 27th and will benefit the CCSS food program. Bid high and often! Click here to see the bowls and place your bid. In the middle of July, a thief broke into the Scott parking lot, hotwired our old 250,000 mile mini van and drove it through the cyclone fence (we know because it was captured on video tape). The vehicle had been donated years ago by the Jenkins Family from Frankenmuth. The loss was felt immediately. We used the minivan to deliver food, haul recucling, transport building materials and drive residents to appointment. When the police found the van, it was totaled. Channels 7 and 4 ran stories about the robbery and good people responded generously. The George Fund purchased a beautiful mini van that is being used by the food department. Rev. Susan Youmans contributed a used pickup truck that will help us move construction materials and even snow. An anonymous donor provided a fullsized van to assist with our recycling efforts. Auto dealers Joe Serra and David Fischer reached out to us to extend help, as did Janet Lawson and Jim Vella from the Ford Motor Fund. Several other individuals called and emailed with equally generous offers. We have been simply overwhelmed by the gracious response.
