Participants were chosen to reflect as many different aspects of life in Manchester as possible. The task for them will be to shoot their life on one role of film in the space of 24 hours before Urbis exhibits the results for all to see. From a pilot who regularly flies into Manchester to a police person who patrols its streets, the wide range of participants will give a real and personal insight into what it means to live, work and play in Manchester today. Celebrity participants include singer-songwriter, Badly Drawn Boy, cult author, PP Hartnett and ex-frontman of Inspiral Carpets, Tom Hingley. Emily Gleed, from Stolichnaya said: “Stolichnaya has set out to create an exhibition centred around the theme of „authenticity‟. We are delighted to be working alongside Urbis on a project that will provide an incredibly personal insight into the contributor‟s lives and worlds through unplanned and off-the-cuff photography.” Scott Burnham, Creative Director for Urbis, said: “After twelve months exploring unique aspects of cities around the world with our international exhibitions, Urbis is very proud to round out the year by putting the spotlight on one of the most unique aspects of our home city – Manchester‟s people and their authentic views of their own city, as they capture the daily vibe that makes this the great place that it is” Admission: FREE - ENDS - For further press information please contact: Peggy Manning at Urbis T: 0161 605 8212 E: [email protected] Katie Maynes @ Revolver Communications T: 020 7251 5599 E: [email protected] Notes to Editors • The £30m construction and development of Urbis was managed by Manchester City Council Special Projects Team and are funded as part of the £42m Manchester Millennium Quarter by the Millennium Commission, the European Regional Development Fund, Manchester City Council and the Department of Local Government, Transport and the Regions (DLTR) and the Northwest Development Agency. • Stolichnaya‟s the most famous of all Russian vodkas – a classic spirit that‟s been produced for over 100 years.
