Bislett Stadion Og Bislett Games Information Welcome to Bislett The Bislett Alliance is delighted to welcome you to Oslo for truly world class athletics at the Bislett Stadium on 15 June 2017. First held in 1966, the Oslo Bislett Games is the fifth in this year’s IAAF Diamond League series following Doha, Shanghai, Eugene and Rome. With quality fields in all events, including many Olympic Champions, World Champions and European Championships, we are set for yet another exciting evening at Bislett. The upcoming World Championships in London this August makes the competitions even more important as the athletes are looking to find their best form. The Bislett Stadium is known globally as “the World Record Track”, testimony to the 69 world records in athletics that have been established at this unique stadium. Bislett is equally well known for the electric atmosphere in the stadium and its knowledgeable spectators that encourage and support all competitors. In a major restructure, the IAAF Diamond League has from this season adopted a championship style model where athletes will earn points in the first 12 IAAF Diamond League meetings to qualify for two final meetings. The season is now a race to reach the finals with the winners crowned as IAAF Diamond League Champions. As a part of the ambition of Oslo Bislett Games to become the most sustainable international athletics meeting in the world, all transport is to be completely emission free from the moment the athletes arrive in Norway. Moreover, the athletes will travel by train to the next IAAF Diamond League meeting, Bauhaus-galan in Stockholm. I hope this guide will help you in your work and answer your questions. Please see oslo.diamondleague.com for all the latest information, including start lists and the standings in the IAAF Diamond League Road to final. The web site will be continuously updated with results during the meeting. I wish you an enjoyable evening!
