Download Defraggler App Defraggler for Windows download defraggler app Defraggler for Windows. Defraggler is a free application that lets you optimise the performance of your Microsoft Windows PC device by rearranging disorganised files on hard-disk drives and solid-state drives. While you can defragment files on solid-state drives, the restructuring process is not optimal for SSDs. Defraggler will work best with a PC HDD. Is Defraggler safe? You can securely download Defraggler on Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. You will not receive third party advertisements while you use the app. The tool is free of adware, malware, and spyware. Piriform LTD built and released Defraggler and several similar PC applications: CCleaner, Recuva, Speccy, etc. What is the use of Defraggler? Defraggler is a lightweight program with an orderly user interface that lets you analyse all of the files on your drive to defrag the units. The efficiency and speed of your PC will improve when you reorganise the items. Files become fragmented on drives when you add, delete, and edit archives because the system will add new records to the space that the deleted data left available. The new file may only partially fit the leftover storage space. Part of the incoming item may be distributed into different places on the HDD or SSD. The HDD has to use extra energy to retrieve the divided pieces of data for you. The program lets you evaluate the state of your PC hard drive to determine which related records need to be united again. The software will prevent fragmentation from happening by merging open spaces together into one cohesive empty section at the end of the file list. You can easily navigate around the user interface. Your hard disc will be listed at the top of the screen. You can see whether the drive is an HDD or SSD under ‘Media Type’. The amount of space available on the drive will be listed in the upper portion of the UI. You can see how much GB of the total drive capacity is free and being used. The status of the operation will be updated as you progress through the process. The fragmentation percentage will appear in the upper part when the analysis is complete. Easy to follow steps. You can click on the ‘Analyse’ button in the lower left corner to start assessing your driv e. The results will appear in the tabbed interface within the ‘Drive’ area. You can see the total number of fragments and fragmented files. If you want to see the detailed file statistics , then you can tap the ‘View files…’ button. The ‘File list’ tab will deliver a catalog that includes the number of fragments that are associated with each record. You can match the colours within the key in the ‘Drive map’ tab with the main graph to tell where the different files are in your system: not fragmented, fragmented, etc. Brief descriptions appear when you hover above the squares in the table. The drop-down menu on the ‘Defrag’ button gives you a ‘ Quick Defrag ’ option since the defragging procedure can be lengthy. The app will not let you alter multiple drives at once. You can click on ‘Defrag’ to reposition the content. You will get real time updates on the current state of the task. The majority of the fragmented files that are represented by red squares should be replaced by the colour blue in the chart. You may want to defrag your computer or laptop multiple times to receive the best results. Alternative applications that reorganise files. Auslogics Disk Defrag, PerfectDisk, O&O Defrag, Smart Defrag, and UltraDefrag can optimise your hard drive by evaluating and relocating divided data. All of the utilities include a drive map to show you the precise location of the fragmented or defragmented records. While Auslogics, PerfectDisk, and O&O have complex user interfaces that are filled with features, UltraDefrag is a simply designed program. UltraDefrag is an open source project that lets you build upon the programming code. While Smart Defrag only works with a Mac operating system, the rest of the apps are compatible with the Windows OS. Straightforward utility to enhance PCs. Defragmentation tools are a great way to keep your Windows computer running quickly and efficiently. If you have a Windows PC running Windows 7 or older and using a hard disk, definitely check disk defragmentation. While Windows provides a free defragmentation tool, that doesn’t mean it’s the only or the best option. As system defragmentation can take a painfully long time to run, it is important to make sure you’re using software with the highest performance. You don’t want your computer being unnecessarily slowed down by software that is supposed to be speeding it up! A free alternative to the standard Windows defragmentation tool. Defraggler is an all-round better option than the Windows defragmentation software which comes as standard. Not only is the speed of defragmentation significantly reduced, it also comes with more features and a more in-depth statistical analysis at the end. Defraggler does have a premium version but there’s no need to upgrade. There are no limitations or “trial periods” with their free version. While there is competing freeware (free software) to choose from, like Buzzsaw or Smart Defrag, there isn’t much of a contest between the premium version and free option. Do bear in mind that running disk defragmenter software on a solid-state drive (SSD) could be damaging if done too frequently. The speed of the disk defragmentation can actually be reduced by up to 30% using Defraggler. In one case, the program took less than 6 hours for 1TB on Windows 7. You may have grown used to the amount of time the standard software takes, but quicker defragmentation means you don’t need to keep your computer on for days on end. As far as the functionality of the software goes, Defraggler will feel like a premium version in comparison to Windows. The biggest improvement is the ability to select specific files to be defragmented. If you already know where you are being slowed down, being able to directly target the source of the problems saves you having to do an entire disk defragmentation. This is such an intuitive feature to include, it seems strange Windows hasn’t already implemented into its own software. Defraggler’s main rivals (such as Auslogic) have all opted to differentiate themselves from the Windows version because of gaping holes in the functionality such as these. Defraggler also trumps the standard Windows version when it comes to statistical feedback. You’ll be given a much more detailed breakdown on the current state of your disk on an easy-to-understand, color-coded map. This may just sound like a satisfying extra to be able to see but it is also incredibly useful if you want to optimize your system disk further or get a better understanding of your disk. It also gives you detailed information about the overall health of your drive. This software is practical and straight-forward to use. There are no gizmos or flashing lights to distract you. It has a clean, simple layout which makes it very user-friendly. In essence, it manages not to oversell itself as so much software sometimes does in order to try and make themselves stand out. Just as in the standard Windows version, less in regards to layout is certainly more! You are also able to choose between a quick or a full scan, as with the Windows defragmenter. This is a really great option which works and they haven’t been afraid to keep what’s working the same! Where can you run this program? Defraggler is only available for Windows computers, specifically Windows 7, 8.1, 10, Vista, and XP. There are both 32-bit and 64-bit editions, but it is not supported on tablets. If you have a Mac, there is software available which can “crack” this program and allow you to use it. While this may be a temptation, there are a few reasons why Mac users should look elsewhere. First, the software has not been designed for use on a Mac so exactly how effective or damaging it will be to your computer is unknown. Second, many of the sites which offer such “help” are often just trying to get you to download malicious software. Steer well clear if you can’t be sure of the software or of where it’s coming from! Is there a better alternative? Defraggler is not the only option when it comes to alternative disk defragmentation software.
