ERROL FLYNN SOCIETY, Galley No. 11

It was the last piece of music to be done on the film, and afterwards Korngold was extremely pleased with the result. Filming of "" was completed on January 14th 1938. Released late April that year.

After placing "The Adventures of Robin Hood" in the number one spot. The following places as you the members see them:- No. 2:- The Sea Hawk. No. 3:- They Died With Their Boots On; No. 4:- The ; No. 5:- Against All Flags; No. 6:- The Charge of the Light Brigade; No. 7:- ; No. 8:- San Antonio; No. 9:- Rocky Mountain; No. 10:- Gentleman Jim; No. 11:- ; No. 12:- Dodge City.

It is interesting to note my favourite did not get into the top twelve]! Just for the record American soldiers did fight in Burma, under "General Merrill" and also under "General Stilwell" in "China" not to mention the "Army Air Corps" in the sky over Burma. Without them the war in Burma would not have been successful. "Errol, you did a good job in Burma"!'! ED.

With regards to films made by Errol and not recorded-I.E. "The Bargain". The following is from a member, from Maidenhead Berkshire. England. Martin Masheter.- From what 1 can find out it seems "The Bargain" was the initial title for "The Adventures of Captain Fabian" (in Picturegoer August 12th 1950 gossip section) it says-: Right now Errol Flynn is filming "Rocky Mountain" a . But he is scheduled to make "The Bargain" with Agnes Moorhead in France so lets wait and see. Also in (Picturegoer September 2nd /950) the handsome hero of "Kim" and Rocky Mountain," his current western, is all set to film "The Bargain" in France "he wrote the story himself" which may mean plenty.!! Then (Picturegoer October 28th /950) says on the Riviera-thats where is just completeing a film with Errol Flynn, now titled "New Orleans Tavern" the picture will probably be called "Blood Line" for British audiences. From the articles above it seems likely that the title prior to "New Orleans Tavern" was "The Bargain"and Agnes Moorhead was in it. "The Adventures of Captain Fabian." Martin goes on to say-: in a small French book I have on Errol-:"Anthologie Du Cinema Nr. 47." July 1969 by Gerard and Marcedu Devillers the filmography has a Warner Brothers film released in November, 1935 and directed by Mervin ILeroy calied "I found Stella Parish" after the credits it starred ( and Ion Hunter) it says-: "Ce film n'est cite dans ancune filmographie, mais seton lerlecteurs dvtser de "Films in Review," Errol Flynn apparaitrait dans Ie role dun acteur durany une Representation Theatrale." "Films in Review" January, 1960 edition (in case any member o(the Society can find it.) I also found an interesting article in "Picture Show September 2nd 1939" which says-: "-Errol Flynn goes to sea aboard his yacht "Sirocco" with Howard Hill, his associate in (Flynn Hill Productions) makers of short subjects with a Bow-and-Ar-row theme. Two Flynn-Hill Productions have been filmed already and a third is now being made.--" Martin asks-"Do any other members. know of other short films made by (Flynn-Hill Productions) other than-: "The Cruise of the Zaca!"

In "Picture Show 8th December, 1951 Martin found the following "--The films made by Errol Flynn are to be released as two shorts by Warner Brothers, one two-reel picture "The Voyage of the Zaca" the other "Whaling in the Pacific" was made off the coast of Mexico. Errol Flynn will be narrator. The book "The Films of Errol Flynn" relating to "Deep Sea Fishing" had nothing to do with "Whaling" is it possible this was another short film Errol made??? Also Martin has a book on Errol called-: "Errol Flynn by James Robert Parish. Alan G. Barbour and Alvin H, Marill, published by Cinefax in 1969 (Any member know of this one!) The book mentions (The Errol Flynn theatre 26 episodes all introduced by Errol, and he appeared in 6.) Two other T.V. films were "Without Incident" a Warner Brothers T.V. Pilot film in 1957. and "Sword of Villon" a Hal Roach Studios production - Directed by George Waggner and filmed as a unit of the Screen Directors Playhouse. Also worth a mention and to have it on record, the following-: "Screen Snapshots (number 6 series 24) Columbia 1945-9 mins with-: Errol Flynn, Jane Wyman, Hoot Gibson, Andy Devine Wild Bill Elliott, Allan Lane, Charles Starrett, Leo Carrillo, and Andy Clyde. (of Hopolong Cassidy fame!)
