Craggan is a large, sheltered campsite located in a remote glen, lying between Comrie and Muthill The camp site is a natural wooded area and is just ideal for outdoor activities, backwoods shelters, cooking on wood fires. FACILITIES - There are three huts on site: a small storage hut, a kitchen/night toilet hut and a large hut (10m x 5m) for storage and wet weather shelter.

Camping areas hold approximately 350 campers and split into 10 individual sites. Larg sleeps 34, Carolina sleeps 34. We have altar fires and tables, easily accessible from the site. All wood free of charge. We have a wide range of onsite activities to suit all ages including obstacle course, and bouldering wall. Facilities are available for use all year round for long and short visits.

Nineacres Memorial Campsite is available for use by all youth organisations ranging from Scouts, Guides and the Boys Brigade to Youth and Church Groups and schools. The site is also ideally suited as a base for Chief Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expeditions.

In total Barrwood covers an area of about 96 acres although about 25% of this is taken up with Plantations. The rest is largely open woodland with about 50 designated camp-sites. Each of these has a location for an open fire and a number of positions suitable for patrol tents. Many of the local Scout Groups maintain their own preferred site. Top Activities

The site consists of three camping areas surrounded by mature woodland on the south side of the estate road. There is a cabin with cooking and dining facilities, boatsheds, toilets, showers, activity/games area and car parking. Two of the areas are suitable for traditional patrol camping and the third is more remote and better for lightweight camping.

The main activities on offer are water based with bell boats, canoes and kayaks available for hire to Groups who have suitably qualified leaders. There is a shed for storing bikes as the area is ideal for cycling with many off-road routes. There is an indoor climbing wall available nearby for private hire. Excellent area for walking. A 23 acre site with a mix of patrol-sized camp sites and larger, group sites scattered amongst mature woodland. It also has two purpose-built buildings for indoor accommodation- sleeping 38 and 19 respectively. And two bothies which can sleep six people: Jock’s Hut and The Undercroft.

Insh campsite is a lightly wooded site beside a river. It is 3 miles up a single track road in the shadow of Ben Nevis. The site is ideal for groups to camp. and equipment can be borrowed. There is a toilet block and leader’s hut with electricity.

The site is set in 9 acres of rough woodland and has eight individual patrol camping sites with wooden dining shelters. It also has a large training/games area, campfire circle, outdoor toilets and running water. Situated within Haddo Country Park, this site is on two levels including the Pheasantry Building, which has toilets, basic kitchen facilities, and a “living room” available, 75-100 campers can be accommodated on the fields.

Lots of off-site opportunities for tracking, wild life spotting, pond dipping, orienteering to name but a few. No equipment is provided for this, but they are easily set up if you bring your own stuff.
