WHEREAS, The Forum School is a non-profit approved private school for students with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the School District of Mahwah (the “District”) has contracted to send to The Forum School certain students with disabilities who reside in the District; and

WHEREAS, The Forum School does not charge any of its students for meals;

NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the District does not require The Forum School to charge students for reduced and/or paid meals in accordance with the income eligibility criteria established by the Child Nutrition Program as administered by New Jersey Department of Agriculture; and it is

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the District understands and acknowledges that the foregoing actions do not increase the contracted tuition rate for students with disabilities sent by the District to The Forum School.

WHEREAS: the Mahwah Board of Education has now developed a proposed set of annual goals for the 2017-2018 school year that it wishes to include in its contract with the Superintendent;

WHEREAS, Quantitative Merit Goal #1 calls for revising all district job descriptions to reflect current regulations and district priorities. Value of 3.33% of base salary = $5,577.75.

WHEREAS, Quantitative Merit Goal #2 calls for conducting a full technology audit in which 100% of all hardware, software, and infrastructure in the district will be identified, evaluated, and cataloged. Value of 3.33% of base salary = $5,577.75.

WHEREAS, Quantitative Merit Goal #3 calls for reviewing and revising where appropriate district policies and regulations within the 1000 and 7000 series to reflect current district practices, district priorities and legal mandates. Value of 3.33% of base salary = $5,577.75.

WHEREAS, Qualitative Merit Goal #1 calls for the continued planning of the construction of the STEAM facility. Value of 2.5% of base salary = $4,187.50.

WHEREAS, Qualitative Merit Goal #2 calls for the Superintendent to work with the Director of Curriculum and school administrators to review the current curriculum and make specific decisions related to adjustments or changes to current coursework and/or to delineate sequence(s) of courses to create potential career pathways. Value of 2.5% of base salary = $4,187.50.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: the Mahwah Board of Education establishes qualitative and quantitative criteria and merit salary bonuses for their achievement: and direct that these criteria and related bonuses be submitted to the Executive County Superintendent of Schools for approval before adding them to the 2017-2018 contract with the document on file in the Business Administrator/Board Secretary office.
