  • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tellier Pharmacy Supports World Event
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tellier Pharmacy Supports World Event (Bonnyville, Alberta – June 16, 2016) Tellier Guardian Pharmacy today announced a $10,000 sponsorship for the 2016 World Jr. A Challenge. The WJAC is a showcase of Canadian and International Junior A talent and it’s returning to Alberta for the second time in tournament history when Bonnyville welcomes the event December 11-17, 2016. “This is such an exciting opportunity to be apart of,” said Owners Paul & Ruth Tellier. “We thought the team sponsorship package fits perfectly with what our business is all about,” added Paul Tellier. “Not only do we get to assist in bringing this world class event to our town but with the Team Sponsorship package there’s an element to incorporate our youth as well. We have been serving the community for 45 years and we’re so delighted to partner with community members to put Bonnyville on the map.” “This is the largest event, hockey or otherwise, ever to come to Bonnyville.” Said Robb Hunter Committee Co- Chair. “The World Junior Challenge’s economic impact to its host community has been historically well over $2 million,” Hunter said. “In these challenging economic times, our group, and the Bonnyville Pontiacs organization saw the World Junior A Challenge as a way to give back to the community, help fill hotel rooms, fill restaurants and bring people to our region who will spend money in our stores.” While the tournament will bring much-needed relief to the service industry, hit hard by the drop in oil prices, the tournament is also a chance to bring world-class hockey to a community that lives and breathes the sport.

  • Newell Region 2018 Quality of Life Report
Grasslands Regional FCSS ass QUALITY OF LIFE #2 NEWELL REGION 2018 For a copy of the Quality of Life Full Reports and Snapshots for communities within the Newell Region visit: www.grasslandsregionalfcss.com For More information contact: Lynn Pye-Matheson, MSW RSW Executive Director Grasslands Regional FCSS [email protected] 403-362-4549 Quality of Life #2, 2018: Newell Region EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Quality of Life project began in the fall of 2011 seeking a means to increase understanding of communities within the Newell Region. The intent of the research was to determine a Quality of Life model or matrix that could be applied to the Newell Region. After conducting a literature review of existing academic research, it was discovered that other Quality of Life Survey models would not provide the detailed level of analysis required when using a multi-sector (Business; Public; Social) approach to measuring the quality of life within this blended urban and rural region. The literature review also determined the nine factors most relevant to the quality of life in the Newell Region. Frequency analysis was conducted to choose potential variables within each of the nine factors – feedback from residents was obtained through pre-testing surveys and community forums held throughout 2011 and 2012 to determine variables most relevant to the Newell Region. Thus, Grasslands Regional FCSS created a new quality of life survey with the capacity to collect information useful to a broad variety of key stakeholders. The result was the first Grasslands Regional FCSS Quality of Life Survey #1 administered throughout the Newell Region in the summer of 2013 and Survey #2 administered in the spring and summer, 2017.
