REGULATIONS 1. Tide and commencement-( I) These regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 1998, and are part of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations I990" ("the principal regulations"). (2) These regulations come into force on I April 1998. 2. Method of entering certain details on return-Regulation I9 (I) (i) (i) of the principal regulations is amended by omitting the expression "Fisheries Act I983" where it second occurs, and substituting the expression "Fisheries Act I996". 3. Codes to be used in completing returns-(1) Part I of the Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by omitting, both from paragraph (b) of the note to Table I and from the heading of the third column of that table, the expression "Tables 3 to 7", and substituting in each case the expression "Tables 3 to 9". (2) Part I of the Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by inserting in Table I, in their appropriate alphabetical order, the following items: "Dredge : -other than Foveaux Strait dredge oysters 4 OYS 4 5B OYS 5B 7 OYS 7 -Foveaux Strait dredge oysters 5 OYU 5

" 1 SCA I cs SCA CS 4 SCA 4 7 SCA 7" (3) Part I of the Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by inserting in Note 2 at the beginning of Table 2, in its appropriate alphabetical order, the following defmition: " 'Part-Southland' means that part of Quota Management Area 5- Southland that is not included in the Foveaux Strait dredge fishery referred to in Table 9 of this schedule:". (4) Table 2 in Part I of the Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after the item "Part Sub-Antarctic' , the following item:

"Part-Southland 5B" (5) Part I of the Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by adding the Tables 8 and 9 set out in Schedule I of these regulations.

4. Species codes-The Second Schedule of the principal regulations is amended by revoking Part II, and substituting the new Part II set out in Schedule 2 of these regulations. 5. Revocations-The following regulations are revoked: (a) Regulation 6 (3) and Part III of the Second Schedule of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990, Amendment No. 1 (S.R. 1991/158): (b) Regulation 3 (2) of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990, Amendment No. 3 (S.R. 1994/183): (c) Regulation 3 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990, Amendment No.4 (S.R. 1995/282): (d) Regulation 2 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990, Amendment No. 5 (S.R. 1996/269). 104 Fisheries (Reporting) Amendment Regulations 1998 1998/22

EXPLANATORY NOTE This note is not part of the regulations, but i.s intended to indicate their general effect. These regulations, which come into force on 1 April 1998, amend the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 1990 by- (a) Substituting a new consolidated Part II of the Second Schedule that incorporates a large number of new species codes (and also changes the species code for sea cucumber); and (b) Providing separate area fishstock reporting codes for oysters and scallops.
