DIRECTOR, Center for Diversity & Social Justice Programs April 2016-Present Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA ● Hire, train, and supervise one full-time employee: Assistant Director ● Manage the day to day operations of the Center for Diversity & Social Justice Programs which includes advising 16 identity-based student organizations and delivery of programming such as Diversity Leadership Council, Black Wentworth Coalition, Equity & Community Union, Diversity Excellence Night, My Brother’s Keeper, UMOJA Cultural Graduation, and Women’s Council. ● Implement and assist in the assessment of a campus wide climate survey focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion. ● Work directly with the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to implement a university strategic plan on Inclusive Excellence centered on recruitment plans, retention efforts and organizational policy development ● Organize and coordinate various programs and initiatives such as Bridges Mentoring Program for Students of Color, annual Beloved Community Social Justice Retreat. ● Develop and facilitate trainings for faculty, staff, and students on various DEI topics such as implicit bias, toxic masculinity, social justice, and microaggressions. ● Active member of various campus wide and Student Affairs committees such as Leading for Change (task force on students of color recruitment and retention), Committee for Sexuality and Gender Equity,, and Bias Incident Response Team. ● Partner with offices throughout the University to review and recommend modifications to departmental policies and procedures. ● Oversee and manage a budget of approximately $57,000.
