With all the material wonders created by advanced technology the fundamental human condi- tion has not made any signifi- cant improvement. Although we have acquired an impressive degree of power over nature, our knowledge of and control over our inner being is very limited. We are able to control great electrical forces with a movement of a finger and we flood the air with sound and pictures for the entertainment of millions, but we are unable to deal effectively with our own emotions, impulses and desires.

We have had to pay dearly for our material achievements. Life has become richer, broader and more stimulating, but at the same time more complicated and exhausting, leaving little time for introspection and self knowledge. Life’s rapidly increasing tempo, the opportunities it offers for gratifying our desires, and the intricate economic and social machinery in which we have become enmeshed, make insistent demands on our energy, mental functions and emotions. requires us to uncover some of our lower and higher unconscious material so that we can tap into our hidden wisdom. “VERTICAL CHALLENGE”

HELICOPTER INVASION!

San Carlos Airport, CA - . The Annual Vertical Challenge Helicopter Air Show is scheduled for June 17th, 2006, 9 AM to 5 PM. Over 50 helicopters are on display and doing things only helicopters can do. These helicopters don’t just hover around; they put on a full blown helicopter air show. There are choppers everywhere!

There will be SAR (search and rescue) Demos performed by the Stanley Hiller at Berkeley as a student U.S. Coast Guard with their HH-65 Dolphin and the California Department of Forestry brings their full ensemble of equipment for display. Emergency services are well represented by CHP, Sheriffs, Police, Air Ambulances and other rescue helicopters.

Joining Toyota as a banner sponsor is Bell Helicopters, a Textron Company. Bell Helicopters has over 50 years experience of flight testing and innovation and their motto is “Fly Smart, Fly Bell.”

“If you like helicopters, then Vertical Challenge is the place to be,” said event organizer Willie Turner. “Even the general public has a great interest in helicopters, maybe because it is fascinating to watch a mass of metal suspend itself in mid-air.”
