27 Oct–14 Nov Diwali (or Deepavali, which means ‘row of lamps’) is also known as ‘The Festival of Lights’ and symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil and the renewal of life. It is a significant Festival ancient Indian festival. While Diwali is a religious Hindu festival, it is celebrated by non-Hindu of Lights Indian communities throughout India and around the world. The festival is an opportunity for locals and visitors to celebrate Indian culture in Auckland.
