Nicholas Lindheim Rolls in 35-Footer for Playoff Victory at the DAP Championship
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Nicklaus Parker September 24, 2017 (904) 806-4582 Final-Round Leaderboard Pos. After falling in a playoff a year ago at the DAP Championship, he poured in that lengthy birdie on the first playoff hole Sunday to defeat Rob Oppenheim and Chesson Hadley for his second career victory. “I think last year I was just content being in the playoff,” Lindheim said. “I played it like six inches outside the right edge. I didn’t say firm it, but I ended up firming it and it was destiny. That’s all I can say.” The victory was particularly satisfying considering he nearly gave it away. After a birdie on the 16th hole to take a two-shot lead, he finished bogey-bogey and had to hole a 4-foot putt on the 72nd hole to pencil in his spot in the playoff. When that putt went in, he went into the playoff feeling like he had nothing to lose. “Golf is so hard, just controlling your emotions is one thing and then swinging a club with all those thoughts in your head. -

Hadley carded a final-round, 7-under 65 for a 23-under-par 265 total, a new 72-hole tournament record at Peek’n Peak’s Upper Course. “I know 23-under is probably a record for me,” said Hadley, who was four better than Rick Lamb’s total in 2016. “I know I shot 22-under when I won in Puerto Rico on TOUR, but 23-under is the best I’ve ever shot. I peaked at the right time. The key is to maintain it.” The 30-year-old from Raleigh, N.C. jumped from No. 22 to No. 4 on the money list with a first-place prize of $108,000. His total earnings of $218,450 means Hadley will be competing for a FedExCup trophy starting in the fall. “That was the goal this year,” said Hadley, who finished No. -
