JANUARY • Richard Perry was named both the (EWL) and the co-PSAC Fri. 10 vs. Bucknell at Virginia Duals W, 24-11 (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Wrestler of the Week for the period ending vs. Kent State at Virginia Duals L, 27-12 Feb. 16. He shares the PSAC honor with Ernest James of Edinboro. Perry won both his Sat. 11 vs. Nebraska-Kearny at Va Duals L, 21-17 matches at the NWCA National Duals over the weekend to extend his winning streak to Fri. 17 at Rider L, 20-16 26 straight matches. In the team’s match against Oklahoma Perry avenged his only loss of Sun 19 HOFSTRA W, 24-21 the year by beating fifth-ranked Travis Rutt by fall in 4:17. Perry was behind 2-1 after one Sat 25 at Edinboro * L, 29-10 period, but was able to turn on Rutt and get the victory by pin.
