Philip and Lydia Greiner This piece was made by Jose Guerrero who lives in San Juan d’Oriente near Masaya, Nicaragua. He is a third- generation artisan. He is part of a group of artisans from his town; they work together to travel once each year to get the supplies they need. It takes about 30 days to create a piece from start to finish; the timing is partly dependent on the weather. If it is too cold and rainy, or too hot, the process is delayed. The family produces about 20 pieces each month. The larger pieces like this, are particularly unique and they produce only a few of this size each month.
