CHARLES HALEY TO RECEIVE HALL OF FAME RING OF EXCELLENCE AT COWBOYS GAME ON SUNDAY
CANTON, OHIO – The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Kay® Jewelers, the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will honor Class of 2015 enshrinee CHARLES HALEY during a special ceremony on Sunday as he receives his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence. A tribute to the Hall of Fame defensive end/linebacker will take place after the first quarter of the Dallas Cowboys home game against the Seattle Seahawks at AT&T Stadium. The San Francisco 49ers held a similar tribute for Haley earlier this season.
The Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence is one of three iconic symbols that represent the elite status of being a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Haley received his Hall of Fame Gold Jacket on Thursday night of Enshrinement Week in Canton, and unveiled his Bronzed Bust during the Enshrinement Ceremony two days later.

Haley played five of his 12 NFL seasons with the Cowboys. He is the 15th longtime member of the Cowboys to be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was preceded by Troy Aikman, Larry Allen, Tony Dorsett, Bob Hayes, Michael Irvin, Tom Landry, Bob Lilly, Mel Renfro, Deion Sanders, Tex Schramm, Emmitt Smith, Roger Staubach, Randy White and Rayfield Wright. Haley was drafted by San Francisco in the fourth round of the 1986 NFL Draft out of James Madison. He made his presence felt immediately as he led the 49ers in sacks in each of his first six seasons including 12 sacks as a rookie and a career-high 16 sacks in 1990. He was traded to Dallas in 1992, where he was moved from linebacker to defensive end, and added two more double-digit sack seasons while helping the Cowboys

claim three Super Bowl titles. Combined with his two Super Bowl wins in San Francisco, Haley is the only player in NFL history to earn five Super Bowl rings. A severe back injury forced Haley into retirement after the 1996 season but he returned to the 49ers to play in the 1998 posteason and the 1999 season. Haley, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, amassed 100.5 career sacks.
