May 3, 2017 Mr. Jared Kushner Senior Adviser to the President The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500 Dear Mr. Kushner: Democracy 21 calls on you to make a full public disclosure of the foreign lenders, investors and business associates involved in your extensive business holdings. We believe this information is essential in order to assure the American people that there are no conflicts of interest between the important foreign policy responsibilities assigned to you by President Trump and your extensive business holdings. On April 25, 2017, Democracy 21 wrote to you to express our concerns about the potential conflicts of interest and the appearance of such conflicts that you currently face in your role as Senior Adviser to the President. The letter cited the unprecedented policy responsibilities you have been given by President Trump in your role as Senior Adviser to, and confidant of, the President, and your extensive business holdings. The policy responsibilities assigned to you and mentioned in the April 25 letter include foreign policy matters involving China, Canada, Mexico, the Middle East and brokering peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The letter also cited a Washington Post article that said you also are “the primary point of contact for presidents, ministers and ambassadors from more than two dozen countries.”1 The April 25 letter discussed the fact that your decision to make only a partial divestiture of your business holdings resulted in your continuing to retain extensive business interests. According to a Washington Post article that discussed the financial disclosure report you have filed, “Kushner reported owning a stake in nearly 300 different assets or companies collectively worth hundreds of millions of dollars, most of which he still owns.”2 1 P. -

The guilty one is not he who commits the sin, but the one who causes the darkness. —Victor Hugo, Les Misérables Author’s Note Much of this book comes from my own memory. For events during which I was not present, I relied on conversations and interviews, many of which are recorded, with members of my family, family friends, neighbors, and associates. I’ve reconstructed some dialogue according to what I personally remember and what others have told me. Where dialogue appears, my intention was to re-create the essence of conversations rather than provide verbatim quotes. I have also relied on legal documents, bank statements, tax returns, private journals, family documents, correspondence, emails, texts, photographs, and other records. For general background, I relied on the New York Times, in particular the investigative article by David Barstow, Susanne Craig, and Russ Buettner that was published on October 2, 2018; the Washington Post; Vanity Fair; Politico; the TWA Museum website; and Norman Vincent Peale’s The Power of Positive Thinking. For background on Steeplechase Park, I thank the Coney Island History Project website, Brooklyn Paper, and a May 14, 2018, article on 6sqft.com by Dana Schulz. -

tlnitrd ~tatrs ~rnatr WASHINGTON, DC 20510 May 3, 2019 The Honorable Henry Kerner Special Counsel U.S. Office of Special Counsel 1730 M Street, NW Washington, DC 20036 Dear Special Counsel Kerner: As you know, the Hatch Act generally prohibits certain categories of political activities for all covered employees. 1 I write today to request your assistance with a review of recent oral statements by Kellyanne Conway, Assistant to the President and Senior Counselor. On April 27, 2019, Ms. Conway made the following statements during an interview on CNN: "You want to revisit this the way Joe Biden wants to revisit, respectfully, because he doesn't want to be held to account for his record or lack thereof. And I found his announcement video to be unfortunate, certainly a missed opportunity. But also just very dark and spooky, in that it's taking us, he doesn't have a vision for the future." The chyron on the bottom of the interview periodically identified Ms. Conway as "Counselor to President Trump."2 On April 30, 2019, Ms. Conway made the following statements in response to a question about infrastructure: "You've got middle-class is booming now despite what Joe Biden says. I don't know exactly what country he's talking about when he says he needs to rebuild the middle class. He also just sounds like someone who wasn't vice president for eight years. He's got this whole list of grievances of what's wrong with the country as if he didn't have, as if he didn't work in this building for eight years .. -

Corporate and Foreign Interests Behind White House Push to Transfer U.S
Corporate and Foreign Interests Behind White House Push to Transfer U.S. Nuclear Technology to Saudi Arabia Prepared for Chairman Elijah E. Cummings Second Interim Staff Report Committee on Oversight and Reform U.S. House of Representatives July 2019 oversight.house.gov EXECUTIVE SUMMARY On February 19, 2019, the Committee on Oversight and Reform issued an interim staff report prepared for Chairman Elijah E. Cummings after multiple whistleblowers came forward to warn about efforts inside the White House to rush the transfer of U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia. As explained in the first interim staff report, under Section 123 of the Atomic Energy Act, the United States may not transfer nuclear technology to a foreign country without the approval of Congress in order to ensure that the agreement meets nine nonproliferation requirements to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. These agreements, commonly known as “123 Agreements,” are typically negotiated with career experts at the National Security Council (NSC) and the Departments of State, Defense, and Energy. The “Gold Standard” for 123 Agreements is a commitment by the foreign country not to enrich or re-process nuclear fuel and not to engage in activities linked to the risk of nuclear proliferation. During the Obama Administration, Saudi Arabia refused to agree to the Gold Standard. During the Trump Administration, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) went further, proclaiming: “Without a doubt, if Iran developed a nuclear bomb, we will follow suit as soon as possible.” There is strong bipartisan opposition to abandoning the “Gold Standard” for Saudi Arabia in any future 123 Agreement. -

Sheet Music Unbound A fluid approach to sheet music display and annotation on a multi-touch screen Beverley Alice Laundry This thesis is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Master of Science at the University of Waikato. July 2011 © 2011 Beverley Laundry Abstract In this thesis we present the design and prototype implementation of a Digital Music Stand that focuses on fluid music layout management and free-form digital ink annotation. An analysis of user constraints and available technology lead us to select a 21.5‖ multi-touch monitor as the preferred input and display device. This comfortably displays two A4 pages of music side by side with space for a control panel. The analysis also identified single handed input as a viable choice for musicians. Finger input was chosen to avoid the need for any additional input equipment. -
