Changes to Provision of Pharmacy Services in Leeds - January 2013 Changes to Provision of Pharmacy Services in Leeds - January 2013 Supplementary statement to NHS Leeds Pharmacy Needs Assessment Pharmacy Needs Assessment Published Jan 2011 Supplementary Statement Issued March 2012 Supplementary Statement issued January 2013 1. Sunday Opening: In the PNA published Jan 2011 we identified a number of wards with gaps in Sunday opening. The following Wards now have pharmacies open Sunday which are new to the PNA. Burmantofts and Richmond Hill We said in 2011: The neighbouring wards of Chapel Allerton, Killingbeck and Seacroft all currently have 100 hour pharmacy provision. However none of the community pharmacies within the Burmantofts and Richmond Hill wards are open on either a Saturday afternoon or Sunday. It maybe desirable, in order to improve access to encourage existing providers to consider opening for an identified period to support services provided from the GP Led service within Burmantofts Health Centre. The Cooperative Pharmacy, based at Lincoln Green is now open Sundays 10-4pm (in addition to Mon-Fri 9-6pm. Sat 9-5pm) East Leeds Pharmacy, Osmondthorpe Lane has recently opened in this ward as a 100hr and is open 7.30am-10.30pm Mon-Sat and Sun 8.00am-6.oopm Cross Gates and Whinmoor We said in 2011: Although not necessary, it maybe desirable that in order to improve access to pharmaceutical services, that existing providers are encouraged to consider opening for an identified period of time on a Sunday. However there are pharmacies open on a Sunday in the neighbouring ward of Killingbeck and Seacroft. We now have a 100hr pharmacy in the ward Cross Gates Day and Night Pharmacy, 17 Austhorpe Road, LS15 8BA is open 8-10am Mon-Sat and 9.30-10.30 Sunday Headingley We said in 2011: Although not necessary, it maybe desirable that in order to improve access to pharmaceutical services, that existing providers are encouraged to consider opening for an identified period of time on a Sunday Headingley now has a 100hr Pharmacy Headingley Pharmacy, St Michaels Court, LS6 2DP and is open 11-7pm Sunday Hyde Park & Woodhouse We said in 2011: None of the community pharmacies within the ward are open on either a Saturday afternoon or Sunday. It may be desirable, in order to improve access, to encourage providers to consider opening for an identified period of time however the neighbouring ward of City and Hunslet has adequate weekend provision. We now have a 100hr pharmacy in the ward which opens Sat afternoon. Elaj Pharmacy (100hr) on Woodsley Road LS3 1DT, open 7-9pm Mon-Fri, Sat 7am-6pm Middleton Park We said in 2011: Although not necessary, it maybe desirable that in order to improve access to pharmaceutical services, that existing providers are encouraged to consider opening for an identified period of time on a Sunday Middleton Park now has a 100hr pharmacy at Middleton Park Circus, LS10 4LX –open 10- 4pm Sundays. • The Park Owners Walk Notes and Map
HISTORIC OWNERS OF MIDDLETON PARK Middleton Park is a large green open space of over 500 acres. The woodland is the second largest semi-natural ancient woodland in West Yorkshire. The park was part of the manor of Middleton, which has been owned by the Gramaire family (1166-1300), the Creppings, the Leghes (1330-1706), the Brandlings (1706-1865) and the Tetleys (1865-1920). Further information can be found on the History section of the Friends© website. Lake (1) ± The lake is artificial and part of the historic parkland. It was probably originally a smaller winter fish pond for the medieval owners. The walk goes round the lake and into the woods, past the top of the clearings, and down the North facing slope to the old tram track. Ice House (2) ± In 2006, Robin Silverwood recalled the name ªIce Hillº for a north facing slope. The Archaeologist, Martin Roe, guessed that would be where the Lodge©s Ice House would be. Paul Hebden searched and found a few old bricks showing through the soil. Excavations by South Leeds Archaeology in May 2013, and Leeds YAC in July 2017, confirmed that this was indeed an Ice House. There will be a further excavation in June 2019 by Leeds YAC. The Ice House would have been built in the 1760©s when Middleton Lodge was built. Medieval Boundary Ditch (3) ± In 1200, in the reign of King John, William de Gramary of Middleton and John de Beeston had a long running dispute over who owned parts of Beeston Wood. William locked up Adam©s Forester in his stocks, and later, Williiam and his men robbed Adam of a cape, sword, cap and gold ring, and locked him up in the stocks too! In court William denied everything and eventually a Judicial Duel was ordered for the last day of Easter, 1201.

Our ref: 2387/21 Figures for incidents of drink spiking in your region over the last 5 years (year by year) I would appreciate it if the figures can be broken down to the nearest city/town. Can you also tell me the number of prosecutions there have been for the above offences and how many of those resulted in a conviction? Please see the attached document. West Yorkshire Police receive reports of crimes that have occurred following a victim having their drink spiked, crimes such as rape, sexual assault, violence with or without injury and theft. West Yorkshire Police take all offences seriously and will ensure that all reports are investigated. Specifically for victims of rape and serious sexual offences, depending on when the offence occurred, they would be offered an examination at our Sexual Assault Referral Centre, where forensic samples, including a blood sample for toxicology can be taken, with the victim’s consent, if within the timeframes and guidance from the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine. West Yorkshire Police work with support agencies to ensure that all victims of crime are offered support through the criminal justice process, including specialist support such as from Independent Sexual Violence Advisors.
