George Squyres and Mark Hinkle also attended. The purpose of the meeting was primarily to exchange information. No motions or votes were conducted. Most of the discussion was for clarification and for possibility. Raiser’s Edge Status Michael Dixon reported Raiser’s Edge was installed the middle of September. Data validation took somewhat longer than expected, but by the end of month staff had caught up. There have been problems with reports not being correct and are being corrected. Data transfers to states are proving somewhat troublesome owing to 1) missing data and 2) varieties of content. In Indiana, for example, the database manager was not able to identify life members or Libertarian Party News subscribers. This has not upset Indiana or apparently others, and callers appeared confident the problems could be worked through readily. If data fields that states urgently need remain missing, Michael requested states e-mail Sam New. BetteRose noted her credit card was double billed for her pledge donation on October 5. Joe acknowledged such problems may have occurred, but that such occurrences were not widespread. Joe Dehn moved to create a Minutes Reconstruction Committee with Joe Dehn to prepare a written report on the actions of the July 4 to 7 national convention and Gary Johnson to prepare the minutes of the July 3 LNC meeting. The motion passed. Gary Johnson said he would ask John Famularo for the audio tapes of the LNC meetings he had prepared for the past three years.

    COMMENTS CONCERNING 2018 AWARDS Submitted to: Libertarian National Committee, Dec. 5, 2016 Submitted by: James W. Lark, III Region 5 Representative, Libertarian National Committee Chair, 2016 Awards Committee The members of the 2016 Awards Committee are Tim Hagan, Daniel Hayes, Kevin Knedler, Jim Lark, and Roland Riemers. The Committee members were elected by the LNC during the November 2015 meeting. In a previous report, the 2016 Awards Committee included information about a matter that warranted the attention of the LNC. I have enclosed that information below, along with an appendix that contains the names of the recipients of Libertarian Party awards and Hall of Liberty members. From the report of the 2016 Awards Committee, July 11, 2016: The Committee suggests that the LNC consider the following issue before the next Hall of Liberty election. In advance of the 2012 national convention the 2012 Awards Committee instituted a new award (the Patrick Henry Award) to recognize very effective Libertarian Party candidates and campaigns. In addition, the Committee instituted the Hall of Liberty, induction into which “… is to honor lifetime or significant achievement that has made a lasting impact on the Libertarian Party and/or libertarian movement.” In a related action the Committee changed the purpose of the Jefferson Award. Specifically, the Committee provided the following description of the Jefferson Award as follows: Thomas Jefferson Leadership Award with recognition of outstanding leadership, high character, and dedication to the principles and goals of the Party. The description is in contrast to the description given by the organizers of the 1996 national convention, who instituted the Adams, Paine, and Jefferson Awards.
