CSAP Grants Discussion Ruth Satterfield, Council Member Presentation: UNITE to Face Addiction Tom Coderre, Senior Advisor to the Administrator, SAMHSA NAC Briefing August 2015 What is UNITE to Face Addiction? A grassroots constituency has developed over the last 15 years that is organized to speak out about: Addiction prevention, treatment and recovery Criminal justice reform Health equity Ending deadly drug overdoses and suicides CSAP National Advisory Council Meeting Over 250 organizations and tens of thousands of individuals are coming together, uniting Americans from all walks of life to face addiction and stand up for recovery on the National Mall on October 4th CSAP National Advisory Council Meeting Broadening our Base: By reaching out to communities of faith, LGBTQ, Latino, African American, labor, and more, UNITE to Face Addiction will demonstrate how addiction solutions benefit all Americans. Why 2015? The Affordable Care Act has ushered in a new era – alcohol and other drug problems are treated on equal footing with other health conditions. Recognition across the political spectrum that current rates of incarceration, including for alcohol and other drug related offenses, can’t be sustained and that they are harmful to families and communities. Heightened awareness of the opiate overdose epidemic. A growing recognition of the impact of discrimination towards people with substance use disorders and the need to dismantle legal and societal manifestations of discrimination. Why Now? We know that addiction is preventable, treatable, and that people can and do get well. Until now, the great majority of people connected to addiction have remained silent. The opioid epidemic and spike in overdose deaths require a response and provide an opportunity to engage policy makers and the public to find solutions. • The Alter Eagles Will Take You to the Limit!!
THE ALTER EAGLES WILL TAKE YOU TO THE LIMIT!! The Alter Eagles are by far the most authentic representation of The Eagles in their prime in the world! Any fan of the Eagles music will recognize the subtle complexities of instruments and vocals paired with exacting harmonies when attending an Alter Eagles event. And unlike other top touring tributes to the Eagles the entire show is sung live with no backing vocal tracks….EVER! No other Eagles Tribute show has: A Bassist who looks and sings like A Don Henley look-alike that sings just Timothy B. Schmit! like him on drums! Joe Walsh’s alter ego on lead guitar and A Glenn Frey clone guitarist and lead lead vocal! vocalist! The members of Alter Eagles came together for love of the Eagles music. They are professional touring musicians who were eager to pool their talents to provide the most accurate and engaging live recreation of the Eagles music possible. All the Eagles classics from "Their Greatest Hits" album like Take It Easy, Desperado and One of these Nights, as well as songs from the newer albums and solo careers such as Heartache Tonight and of course Hotel California are just a few in their repertoire. The Eagles are the most successful and compelling US musical group ever. The Eagles “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” album is the #1 selling album of all time in North America. Timeless lyrics coupled with the deep tapestry of vocals, intricate instrumental arrangements and unmistakable guitar riffs continue to make the Eagles as relevant and powerful today as they have been for decades.

Chart: #1. Time: 6:30. Flip Side: "Pretty Maids All In A Row ". Released in U.S.A on February 22, 1977. Album recorded at Criteria Studios, Miami, Florida and The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California, USA, March to October, 1976. Produced by Bill Szymczyk. Engineered by Bill Szymczyk, Allan Blazek, Ed Mashel and Bruce Hensal. Mixed by Bill Szymczyk in Miami. The Eagles in their earlier years were forced to record music that was more softer then what they wanted. After three albums, they broke with their producer and took control of their destiny, adding Joe Walsh and, important to this track in particular, Don Felder. They wanted to rock. And rock they did. They created not only their most played track, but one of the greatest of the 1970's. While on the surface, it seemed to be about California, it was more about the excesses and self-indulgence of America as a whole. - Larry - Personnel DON HENLEY Don Henley - lead vocals, drums, percussion Glenn Frey - vocals, guitar, keyboards "'Hotel California' was our interpretation of the high life in Los Angeles. It was meant to be a Don Felder - vocals, guitar, slide guitar metaphor for the United States, for the excesses this country has always been known for. This report also includes voter turnout statistics and a directory of state and county elected officials. The Colorado Secretary of State’s Election Division staff compiled this information from materials submitted by Colorado’s 64 county clerk and recorders. Additional information is available at Accountability in Colorado Elections (ACE), available online at https://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/ACE/index.html. Without a doubt, the 2020 election year will be remembered as one of our state’s most unusual and most historic. After starting with the state’s first presidential primary in 20 years, we oversaw two major statewide elections amidst a global pandemic and the worst forest fires in Colorado’s history. Yet, despite those challenges, Colorado voters enthusiastically made their voices heard. We set state participation records in each of those three elections, with 3,291,661 ballots cast in the general election, the most for any election in Colorado history.
