He has published widely on histories of heritage and heritage theory, as well a having a British Academy funded project on the construction of knowledge at ancient monuments. He has also substantial research grants for research projects on ‘oral histories and landscape archaeology’ (AHRC), ‘Methodist communities in nineteenth century Cornwall’ (Leverhulme Trust), on ‘regional identities and arts practice’ (AHRC) and on ‘technological innovation and farming during the post-war period’ (ESRC).
