Problem After upgrading Windows XP from Service Pack 2 (SP2) to Service Pack 3 (SP3) it may appear, that older Olympus Soft Imaging Solution FireWire are not recognized by the computer anymore. The Analysis Software will not be able to acquire .

The following cameras may be affected: • F-View II • CC-12 • Colorview I • Colorview II • Colorview III • Colorview IIIu • MegaView III • KeenView • DP 25

Solution Additional Considerations To carry out the SP3 partial rollback, you need administrator rights on your computer and for Windows. The Windows Explorer must be configured to show hidden files and folders.

Note: After you carry out the SP3 partial rollback, the result of the rollback will be lost if you: • Install a new IEEE1394 host controller • Change the existing host controller to a different PCI slot in the PC In both cases, you should carry out the SP3 partial rollback again

Requirements Before starting the roll back, you need to have a few support files in place. These files may be received either from the respective Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions setup disk (requires Build 1240 or higher) in directory Program\Support\camera\SIS_Firewire or from Olympus Soft Imaging Solution support directly.

The files required are: • Prepare.bat • Cleanup.bat • SP3_to_SP2_1394m.zip • SP3_to_SP2_1394o.zip

SP2 Partial Rollback

1. Disconnect all IEEE 1394 devices from the connectors on the computer.
