Let me set the scene, my granddad was born in1882 and he lived to be 93 years old. Throughout his long life he never had to worry about a gas bill - because he never had a gas supply, in fact for the majority of his life he had no electricity either. The only source of heating was a coal fi red ‘range’ in his two-up two-down terrace and his toilet was at the end of the yard. I guess Tip No. 1 is to forget about fashion and dress for the weather.
