Morning Sue,

All sounds good, I popped up on Monday with the treasurer and we had a quick walk around and are happy with everything.

We do have a few of questions.

1, at what point would the grass be cut down and cleared 2, could we modify the storage area making it larger and maybe put a roof on it to make it more weather proof. 3, would you like a deposit / bond to secure long term booking arrangement for Saturdays & Sunday mornings 4, midweek training session, are there any days / dates where this would be problem in the summer 5, any key dates where the weekends would be a problem

Look forward to hearing from you, then will get a formal response agreeing terms and dates

Hello Jason,

Yes, you have everything right. I need to check with Tom as regards posts but if you have plastic in the meantime then that will get us started.

Bar area is by the hour and only £8 if you are booking something else as well (eg the pitch). Otherwise its £15

As you can gather we keep everything really simple herel

Please let me know if/when you want to start and if you want us to clear access to the storage area.

Regards

Sue

Subject: Complaint and Reimbursement

Sue

I wish to register my disgust and formally complain about the decision Nuthall Parish Council took to call off the Kimberley 3rds cricket match on Basil Russell playing field on 9 May.

As a frequent user of the park for the last 50 years it gives me pleasure seeing different people enjoying the space the park offers, whether they are families being together, children using the play area, football and cricket matches, dog walkers, bowlers and tennis players

I was on the park this afternoon, the day the cancelled cricket match should have taken place, with my niece and nephew. Being someone who has played cricket many times I was surprise to see how dry the field and the wicket area were given the decision that the Parish Council had taken. I was even more surprised that a bowls match was taking place. I could only conclude that there is one rule for the bowling team and one for the cricket team.

(0) Z-I-enr) 27/05/2015 Page 2 of 2

I understand that representatives from the cricket club had themselves inspected the pitch in the morning and found it playable. I'm not emailing you on behalf of the cricket club as I am sure they will take whatever action they think is appropriate. I have copied both the captain and vice-captain of the cricket team into this email.

For me, as someone who has volunteer for many different causes during my life, my family had volunteered to prepare the cricket teas for the cricket match on 9 May. Having checked the weather forecast for Saturday I purchased the food for the cricket teas on Friday. I am therefore out of pocket by £60 due to the Parish Council's action when in fact the cricket pitch was playable.

I have attached an invoice for the Parish Council to reimburse my expenses. A cheque would be acceptable but should you want to make payment by BACs I can provide you with my bank details

Kind Regards 41111111111.

Dear Ms Stack

We would like to inform you that after 17 years, we have now decided to resign from our position as Joint Secretaries of the CPRE Broxtowe Group.

We decided when work started on the Aligned Core Strategy document that this would be our last one. We intended to see it through to the end but as usual it looks like it will go on forever, so we have made our minds up to step down now. It has been an interesting ride, though — I've got a mountain of paperwork and documents to Broxtowe District prove it — and we have learnt a lot along the way, so it has been a good Group experience. Dear Sir/Madam

Nottinghamshire and Nottingham Replacement Waste Local Part Two: Sites and Policies Document — informal consultation on proposed site selection methodology

Nottinghamshire County Council and are working together to produce a new set of waste planning policy documents to replace our existing joint Waste Local Plan.

Part One of the replacement Waste Local Plan (known as the Waste Core Strategy) was adopted in December 2013 and sets out the general approach and strategic planning policies for future waste management facilities across the whole of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham.

Following on from this, the Councils are preparing Part Two of the replacement Waste Local Plan to be known as the Sites and Policies Document. This document will cover all types of waste management facilities including recycling, composting, anaerobic digestion, energy recovery, waste water treatment, waste transfer and disposal facilities

The Sites and Policies Document will be used to identify sites for future waste management use and will also set out detailed policies on how sites should be designed, constructed, and operated in order to minimise potential environmental impacts such as traffic, noise, odour and dust.

What is this consultation about?

As part of the work to identify potential sites, the Councils are consulting interested parties on the proposed methodology to be used for shortlisting and assessing individual sites. This is to ensure that the process of site selection is open, fair and based on the most relevant and up to date information. In preparation for assessing individual sites the Councils are also publishing an updated Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report.

This consultation will run between 15th May and 26th June 2015.

Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 Commencement Orders

INTRODUCTION

The latest in a series of Commencement Orders (No 7) was promulgated last month. For all practical purposes. the provisions of the Act are now fully in force as affecting local town, parish and community councils.

CURRENT POSITION

Under the Act. despite the abolition of the Audit Commission on 31st March 2015, all existing external audit arrangements and appointments continue until the end of the Financial Year 2016/17. Annual Returns will continue to be issued to Local Councils by their present external auditors and should be returned to them as previously.

FUTURE CHANGES

The majority of changes to external audit arrangements and appointments will change with effect from the Financial Year 2017/18 (commencing 15t April 2017), although the Act does provide for the extension of existing external audit contracts in the event that the new arrangements are not implantable in accordance with the timetable envisaged. This is unlikely to be necessary, but cannot be totally ruled out.

The new (post 1/4/18) appointments will be made, in accordance with the ACT, by a new Audit Appointments body (currently referred to as the Sector Led Body — SLB). This is currently being worked up by NALC and SLCC in association with the Association of Drainage Authorities and other (small authorities) representative bodies.

Briefly, all local authorities will be contacted by the SLB during 2016 to confirm (or otherwise) their wish to be part of the central appointment arrangements or (as allowed under the Act) whether they wish to opt out and make their own external audit appointments. These arrangements apply to all Local Councils with Income or Expenditure less than £6.5 million p.a.

Local Councils with Income or Expenditure (whichever is the higher) less than £25K p.a. will be exempt from external auditor (but will still have an external auditor appointed for the purpose of the exercise of electors' rights. All other councils will experience little or no change to their external audit arrangements, save only that their external auditor may change as a result of the new audit contracts under the SLB arrangements.

Smaller Authorities

Smaller authorities (those under £25K) should note that their entitlement to exemption from external audit does not commence until F Y 2017/18, but in the meantime they are (from 1st April 2015) subject to the mandatory publishing requirements of the Transparency Code.

To ease the financial effects of this additional burden on smaller authorities, government have recently signed off on the establishment of a Transparency Fund (worth £4.7 million), to be administered by NALC through its County Associations. The precise mechanics as to the eligibility and disbursement of the fund will be widely publicised as soon as they have been finalised.
