PERSONALITY AND STYLE? IT HAS TO BE TWINGO New Renault Twingo has an assertive personality with a more expressive new front end that is reminiscent of the first-generation Twingo.

“We have heightened New Twingo’s sensuous styling and seductive appeal, marking a return to Twingo’s original personality. We have also given the front end the brand’s new design identity which will be seen on all our new models.”

Laurens Van Den Acker - Senior Vice President, Corporate Design, Renault

SEDUCTIVE APPEAL New Twingo’s front end has taken its inspiration specifically from Renault’s new design identity. On the bonnet, the Renault diamond is both larger and significantly more upright. A black background highlights the badge and presents the brand in a robust, confident manner. Like the first-generation Twingo, the newcomer features an expressive, appealing front end.

Its dynamic, playful character is underlined by its fog lights and round sidelights which are now positioned next to the grille. The ‘eyelids’ of the headlights also contribute to New Twingo’s distinctive looks.

Warm, original new colours called Fuchsia, Bermuda Blue and Sirius Yellow on the R.S. version have been added to the range of 11 body colours and bring a touch of light- hearted fun that’s characteristic of city cars.

Page 4 sur 21

At the rear, there are new reverse lights in addition to the main cluster. Located on the tailgate, they enhance New Twingo's lines and echo the front end, bringing shape and punch to the car. With a more round rear bumper and a more curved form for the lower part of the tailgate, the lines are softer.

Twenty-four different alloy wheel and wheel trim options are available and some of the designs come in two colours. The wheels offer distinctive styling, and some designs also contribute to improved

aerodynamics and reduced CO2 emissions.

Back by popular demand, a fabric sun roof can be specified for New Twingo in addition to the panoramic glassroof. Much appreciated by first-generation Twingo customers, the fabric sun roof is now electrically operated. Depending on market, this feature will be available as an option or on limited editions of New Twingo (not available for GT or R.S. versions).

INSIDE THE CABIN Inside, Twingo’s bubbly character is enhanced through the harmony of colour and materials. All the upholstery options have their own personality. The seats feature new patterns, with edging picked out in contrasting colours. All stitching, as well as the leather and imitation leather panels, are coordinated.

Page 5 sur 21 “Our aim was to reinforce the fun, colourful and friendly character of Twingo, in particular by working on the range of colours and materials. We wanted New Twingo to appeal beyond its core customer base, which is predominantly female and city-based. Clearly differentiated equipment levels, featuring light or dark tones, options for distinctive personalisation and numerous possibilities to upgrade, mean there is something to meet every customer’s needs. This approach is the starting point for a design strategy that will be rolled out across other Renault models.” Antoine Génin - Director of Interior Design, Colours & Materials

The colours also feature on the climate control and heater system controls and door inserts.

The lateral air vent surrounds come in different tones (Gloss Black, Majorelle Blue, Anis Green, Medium Tropical Gunmetal) and their controls are detailed in chrome.

Depending on market, the higher-end equipment levels offer clearly differentiated interior trims: masculine and sporty in the case of the Dynamique, GT, Renault Sport and Gordini versions; or more comfortable and feminine with the Privilege and Initiale packages.

Page 6 sur 21 Ever since its launch, Twingo’s build quality has been one of its significant features, and this is now more apparent than ever in its interior finish, as exemplified by the dashboard which has been enhanced through the use of more substantial and higher quality materials.

A NEW LINE OF SPORTY CARS New Twingo R.S., which will hit the market in spring 2012, features the sporty derivative of Renault's latest visual signature. The signature Sirius Yellow body colour will be available as an option. In addition to its dynamic grille incorporating four lights, New Twingo R.S. features an F1-type blade in the front bumper. This design touch, which can now be found across the Renault Sport range, echoes Renault’s success in Formula 1. Customers can personalise the exterior with a design pack which sees the F1 blade, door mirror housings and R.S. spoiler all picked out in anthracite. The rear end features a sports spoiler on the hatch and the rear bumper incorporates a special diffuser.

Inside New Twingo R.S., the yellow stitching used for the steering wheel, seats and dashboard cowling is in perfect harmony with the hallmark colour of the brand and the other Renault Sport models. The dashboard, audio console, rev-counter housing and lateral air vents are finished in Gloss Black.

A new white interior tone has also been introduced for the upper part of the steering wheel, seat and seat-back edging and rev-counter bezel. The optional R.S. Monitor onboard telemetry system, which has proved so popular on Clio R.S. and Mégane R.S., is also available as an option.

Page 7 sur 21

LAST BUT NOT LEAST… THE GORDINI BRAND The Malta Blue body colour and white stripes characteristic of the Gordini brand are available on the GT and R.S. versions, bringing a sporty touch to the fashionable city car. Its instantly recognisable looks and new 15-inch black diamond-effect wheels are ideal for customers who want a chic and sporty car. Customers looking for a more subtle design can opt for the new grey interior trim and one of the alternative body colours: Glacier White, Pearlescent Black or Vif Red.

And those who want even more from their car will be able to discover New Twingo Gordini R.S. (1.6 16V 133hp) in spring 2012, a version which packs all the sporting DNA of Renault Sport. Gordini has successfully introduced its French Touch in some 20 markets, appealing to a younger and more female customer base.

A TWINGO FOR EVERYONE THANKS TO CUSTOMISATION New Renault Twingo offers a customisation programme that is both comprehensive and readily affordable.

“THAT’S MY TWINGO” New Twingo sees Renault introduce a brand new collection of seven roof decals which brings the total number of available options to 20. Each one is factory fitted and expresses a bold, attractive personality, with the contrasting motifs offering different visual atmospheres.

Two of the decals can be coordinated with New Twingo’s interior and upholstery.

Customers can also choose different colours for the door mirrors and tips of the protective side mouldings, with colours that contrast with the main body colour (colours can be selected from the range of Twingo colours).

Page 9 sur 21

Two types of wheel trim and two 15-inch alloy wheel models are available in three different colours: white, black and anthracite.

A spoiler also comes in four different colours: platinum grey, anthracite, black and white.

In addition, the aftersales network will support the launch of New Twingo with a range of new customisation options for retro-fitment including an exterior 'carbon' parts kit (skirts, sills, wheel arch extensions, etc.). Highly aesthetic, easy to fit and paint-free, the kit will no doubt prove popular with certain customer segments.

SHARE YOUR FAVOURITE DESIGN Customers can visit our dedicated website – http://twingo.renault.com/ – to get an idea of the vast range of customisation options available for New Twingo. Web users can use an online configurator to create and view their ideal Twingo. They can then upload their own creation and vote for their favourite New Twingo. Thousands of photos have already been posted on the website’s gallery.

With New Twingo, Renault has made customisation readily affordable thanks to attractive pricing. A roof decal, for example, will cost around €200, while a different colour for the tips of the protective side mouldings, with matching door mirror housings, will have a recommended retail price of approximately €50.

A new 3D configurator will be gradually rolled out from the end of 2011 on Renault’s websites. This will enable customers to personalise their New Twingo in ‘real-life’ conditions.

And every owner will be able to say: “That’s my Twingo!”

PRACTICAL, VERSATILE AND PACKED WITH EQUIPMENT Renault wanted New Twingo to be attractive, practical, roomy and packed with equipment. Plus it had to double as both a city car and a long-distance tourer. New Twingo has risen to the challenge…

IN TUNE WITH ITS TIME THANKS TO A RANGE OF MULTIMEDIA AUDIO SYSTEMS Multimedia audio systems are just one example of the new equipment available on New Twingo, some of which is revolutionising our driving habits.

All the audio systems in the New Twingo range feature Bluetooth® functionality and audio- streaming with USB connectivity as standard (from March 2012). This makes it easy to play digital music, from a player, phone or USB stick. In this area, too, New Twingo delivers the same features as Renault models in other segments.

As an option, the audio system can be used as a docking station for the latest-generation iPhone and iPod Touch. This special audio system equally enables the use of GPS navigation through an app developed by Renault. Connected via Bluetooth® to the car’s other systems, the audio system is capable of analysing the driver’s eco-driving performance in real time.

By providing tips to keep down fuel consumption, the audio system helps to save fuel by up to 10 percent in a practical, fun way. The system connects to the vehicle via a smartphone and gathers engine data in real time. 1/ It indicates when you should change gear.

Page 11 sur 21 2/ It warns against accelerating too hard. 3/ It provides fuel saving data as a function of the driver's driving style. 4/ It provides instant fuel consumption data with respect to average fuel consumption.

Find out more about Renault’s eco-driving programme: see Chapter 4 on New Twingo’s performance and engines.

PRACTICAL AND VERSATILE New Twingo’s design combines compact exterior dimensions with an impressively spacious interior. This combination has always been Twingo’s trademark. The market’s roomiest city car provides 23 centimetres of knee room for rear passengers, which puts it among the segment’s very best.

Meanwhile, Twingo’s reputation was also sealed through its versatility. Featuring separate, independently sliding, 50/50-split rear seats, Twingo is particularly practical, too.

Its boot capacity can extend from 165 to 959dm3, while the numerous cubby holes and ingenious solutions available as options combine to make it the perfect partner both for shopping runs and for trips to the country.

THE BENCHMARK FOR LOW CO2 EMISSIONS New Twingo is feisty, economical and environmentally friendly – all thanks to its range of high-performance engines.

PUNCHY, ECONOMICAL AND EVEN MORE RESPECTFUL OF THE ENVIRONMENT

New Twingo will achieve benchmark emissions standards in 2012 with 85g/km of CO2 for the diesel-powered versions and 102g/km for the petrol-engined models. At launch, the dCi 75 and

dCi 85 diesels will both emit just 90g/km of CO2 and 104g/km for the 1.2 16V 75hp petrol unit. These flagship engines have all benefited from ongoing improvements. Coupled with the car's fine- tuned aerodynamics, this work has resulted in significant fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions improvements, yet not to the detriment of driving enjoyment.

The TCe 100 engine, which boasts peak torque of 155Nm available from low revs, delivers the driving enjoyment of a larger-capacity engine, but with lower fuel consumption. It has the power of a 1.4-litre engine and the torque of a 1.6-litre engine with the fuel consumption of a 1.2-litre engine.

New Twingo’s wide range of engines has been engineered to suit international markets and sets it apart from other models in its segment. New Twingo is one of the only city cars to be available with Euro5 diesel engines that combine performance and fuel efficiency. New Twingo offers outstanding range: driving economically, a full tank can ensure a range of 1,000km (diesel version) or 750km (petrol).

Meanwhile, a new feature allowing customers to monitor their range on the trip computer is now fitted as standard on all versions of New Twingo (depending on markets).

Page 14 sur 21 SPORTY VERSIONS Twingo R.S. is powered by a naturally-aspirated 1.6 16V engine (K4M RS) which delivers 133hp (98kW) at 6,750rpm and 160Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. This free-revving engine combines flexibility with performance. Beyond 4,500rpm, Twingo Renault Sport gives full vent to its sporting character with true punchy performance. The red line of this free-revving engine is set at 6,750rpm, while the rev-limiter cuts in at 7,000rpm.

Technical characteristics of the Renault Sport 1.6 16V engine: - Improved air filling rate thanks to a specific throttle valve unit and aluminium plenum chamber. - Revised diameters and lengths for the air-inlets. - To improve air intake, research was carried out on the aerodynamics of the valve seats. - To facilitate gas flow, the calibration of the camshafts was revised to a longer opening of the valves. - A high compression ratio of 11.0:1, leading to enhanced efficiency and fewer emissions. - The continuously-variable inlet camshaft improves performance right across the rev range. - The four-into-one exhaust manifold, made from thin-walled steel, patented by Renault Sport Technologies – a technological feat. - A characteristic engine note.

RENAULT eco² - THE HALLMARK FOR LOWER CO EMISSIONS 2

14 Renault has been marketing vehicles with the Renault eco² signature since 2007. To coincide

with the hallmark's fourth anniversary, Renault has increased the criteria with which its vehicles

must comply to qualify for eco² status.

Vehicles can now only claim the status if: -They are manufactured in an ISO 14001-certified factory (included in the original criteria), -They are 95 percent recyclable (previously 85 percent) and if at least seven percent of the plastic they contain is sourced from recycling (previously 5 percent), -They emit less than 120g/km of CO2 (previously 140g/km) or run on biofuels.

The 1.2 16V 75hp and the dCi 75hp and 85hp Diesels available for New Twingo have been awarded the eco² signature because of their extremely low emissions.

These engines account for 90% of Twingo sales worldwide.

AN AUDIO SYSTEM THAT DOUBLES AS A FUEL-SAVING DEVICE

The special iPhone audio system will be associated with a eco² Driving app that can be accessed via the app’s menu.

Dual objective: -Help the driver to reduce their own fuel consumption. -Reduce associated greenhouse gas emissions.

This innovative package of services: -Helps the driver by displaying real-time data that indicates the best way to drive economically. -Rates the driver’s eco-driving performance. -Gives advice in different driving situations with a coaching function that helps the driver progress.

YOU CAN COUNT ON NEW TWINGO With nearly 650,000 units sold since 2007 in 48 different markets, Twingo has brought Renault’s high standards of quality and safety to a broader population.

QUALITY MANUFACTURING Renault Twingo is produced at the Novo mesto plant in Slovenia, on the same assembly line as Clio 2 and Wind. Like all Renault factories, the Novo mesto plant applies the Renault Production Way which is a guarantee of the same high standards of quality across all Renault production sites. The Novo mesto plant is ISO 9001- and ISO 14001-certified. It first received ISO 14001 certification in 1999 and certification was subsequently renewed. ISO 14001 certification, issued by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), testifies to the plant’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact. The Novo mesto factory has one of the lowest environmental impacts of any Renault group site. In the space of 10 years, water consumption per vehicle manufactured at the plant has been halved and energy consumption has been cut by 40 percent.

RELIABLE Since its launch, Twingo has enjoyed widely acclaimed reliability and a remarkable level of customer satisfaction, as confirmed by a long list of studies and surveys. Germany’s ADAC (Allgemeine Deutsche Automobil-Club), for example, considers Twingo’s reliability to have ranged from ‘good’ to ‘excellent’ for several years.

Meanwhile, the French magazine L’Automobile Magazine put Twingo first in its class for the second consecutive year in its overall quality ranking published in February 2011. The magazine also stressed that “with Twingo, Renault has demonstrated its ability to propel one of its cars to the top level of customer satisfaction.”

Page 17 sur 21 Thanks to the careful attention that it pays to the details, New Twingo is poised to take the quality long associated with the model to an even higher standard.

FOCUS ON SAFETY New Twingo is packed with a range of active safety features to protect its occupants. The high- quality chassis, engines and ABS with emergency brake assist all combine to make New Twingo reassuring to drive. The Electronic Stability Control is available as an option. New features include a cruise control and speed limiter function which comes as standard on all versions except for ‘Access’. The front fog lights are also standard equipment. Meanwhile, New Twingo is fitted with a seatbelt reminder for the passenger and driver. New Twingo rounds out its passive safety features with front , new side airbags and Isofix anchorage points for the rear seats.

Page 18 sur 21 IN TOUCH WITH ITS MARKETS AND CUSTOMERS The small car segment is a fiercely competitive, fast-growing market segment. Since 1993, the year of the original Twingo's release, the European city car segment (A segment) has grown from a segment with nine brands and 12 main models to one with 15 brands and 26 models today. However, despite increasingly tough competition and a broader range of models on the market, Twingo has consistently raised its share of the segment since its launch in 2007. After four years on the market, Twingo boasts a segment share that exceeds 10 percent in Europe, and this figure continues to grow.

Like the Renault brand itself, Twingo has acquired an international dimension over time. Sold in 48 countries today (Twingo 1 was only available in 18 countries in 1993), New Twingo proves that it has what it takes to succeed in even the most demanding global markets, where it recorded more than 650,000 sales from 2007 to October 2011.

Further proof of its versatility and the excellence of its engine range, Twingo is the champion of Diesel engines. Diesels account for 20 percent of the engine mix in 2011, while the segment average stands at 7 percent. In 2011, Twingo captured 29 percent of Diesel-powered vehicle sales in the A segment in Europe.

THREE QUESTIONS TO ALI KASSAI (PROGRAMME VP, A/B RANGE)

What were the priorities for Twingo renewal programme? “Twingo is an extremely well sorted car, and all the fundamentals were already very much in place, including its acclaimed cabin space, versatility, comfort, handling and high quality. With these assets in mind, our aim was to make Twingo better than ever. The three priorities for New Twingo were consequently its styling – including the customisation programme and fabric sun roof, for

example – audio connectivity and CO2 emissions. We have also enhanced its personality by returning to the model's original spirit, with an emotional design, which is visible both outside and inside the car. The introduction of a broad and varied range of options and accessories -around 300,000 possible combinations- will allow owners to customise their car. We have brought back a modern take on the fabric which was a feature of the very first Twingo. Quality and audio functions have been improved, too, including the introduction of an iPhone radio, which is a ground-breaking new feature in the world of in-car

entertainment. We also focused, of course, on reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, and the savings have been quite significant.”

With just weeks to go before New Twingo hits the market, which of its features are you particularly proud of? “Developing its new front-end design identity was a significant challenge given the short timescale. A/B-segment cars are one of Renault's specialities, and Twingo is the centrepiece of that expertise. That's something that hasn't escaped Daimler who has turned to us to develop the eventual Smart replacement. In addition to the real 'plus' delivered by its looks, New Twingo's most notable new developments

aren't necessarily the most striking. For example, the fuel consumption and CO2 savings we have

Page 20 sur 21 achieved have put us in a remarkable position and New Twingo stands out not only as the best car in its class but also in the whole internal combustion-engined vehicle market. Following the industry's switch to Euro5 legislation and the widespread fitment of particulate filters, the majority of our competitors have chosen to drop their diesel versions. We decided to continue, however, and I believe that was the correct decision, since diesels account for 20 percent of our 2011 engine mix. That figure is even higher than it was under Euro4 legislation in 2010! That, too, underlines Twingo's versatility.”

How was New Twingo's leading CO2 emissions and fuel consumption performance achieved? “It was achieved thanks to ongoing progress. We constantly strive to improve our performance in these areas and New Twingo takes us to a new level. Since Twingo's launch in 2007, we have

shaved as much as 28g/km off the CO2 emissions of the 1.5 dCi diesel version and 33g/km in the case of the 1.2 16V petrol version. That's a huge saving of 1.1 and 1.3 litres/100km respectively. Renault's vehicle and powertrain engineering teams both did a remarkable job and exceeded their targets.

With emissions of 85g and 102g/km in 2012, we are CO2 and fuel consumption champions. Indeed, Twingo is an eloquent illustration of Renault's eco² policy, since its score of 85g/km is unbeatable for the model's price! This result was achieved thanks to the ingenious solutions we have developed to save weight, reduce friction and optimise aerodynamics and combustion, while priorities were decided to favour

efficient CO2 performance without having to resort to costly procedures like Stop&Start which have an impact on price. To conclude, I would like to underline once again that the Renault New Twingo range boasts a very broad selection of engines, from its most eco-friendly powerplants to that of the R.S. version. Few of our competitors are able to propose this degree of choice and quality, notably with regard16 to diesel engines.”
