CHRISTMAS NEWSLETTER 2016 THE TRINITY CATHOLIC SCHOOL RESPECT Following the Year of Mercy here at Trinity we have been considering ‘respect’ as our theme. The Bible tells us to “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honour the emperor.” So we have explored what it means to respect each other, how we grow respect and how important respect is to the success of a community.

It has been another busy term and I can’t quite believe another year has passed. We enjoyed our Mass at the start of term but we now split the school for Masses as we just don’t fit in any one space. We had a sports award afternoon and lots of activities and opportunities especially for our new Year 7. Our new building is very nearly completed and the move is exciting. PRIZE GIVING 2016

We had a wonderful Prize Giving celebrating successes from last summer and we were able to showcase amazing musicians who were highly complimented by our special guest Julian Lloyd Webber. Quite a year for one of our musicians, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and we hold him in great respect for his hard work, talent and as a great ambassador for the school. There are lots of other activities reported on the website and of course lots of hard work, teaching and learning every day in lessons with your children, in an environment of respect and trust, created and supported by each of us. Mass to end the Year of Mercy On Friday 18th November, Trinity students attended the Schools Thanksgiving Mass at Nottingham Cathedral, marking the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. All schools in the diocese took part, including representatives from the whole of the St Barnabas Trust (Trinity, St Marys, St Augustine’s, Our Lady’s and St Teresa’s). The students were asked to bring something to offer up that represented their school’s efforts over this Year of Mercy.
