TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

SPECIAL TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE CHRISTMAS 2009 AND NEW YEAR 2010 HOLIDAYS

Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Island, Kowloon and the New Territories in connection with the Christmas 2009 and New Year 2010 Holidays:

I. SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

HONG KONG ISLAND

Special Arrangements on 24, 25 and 26 December 2009

(A) Road Closures and Traffic Diversions

(1) Central District

(a) Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct

The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic for designation as pedestrian precinct from 8.00 pm on 24 December 2009 to 11.59 pm on 26 December 2009:

(i) Chater Road between Pedder Street and Jackson Road; and (ii) Ice House Street between Des Voeux Road Central and Connaught Road Central.

(b) Lan Kwai Fong

The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic for designation as pedestrian precinct from 5.00 pm on 24 December 2009 to 6.00 am on the following day; and daily from 7.00 pm on 25 and 26 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the respective following days:

(i) D’Aguilar Street between Wellington Street and Wyndham Street; (ii) Lan Kwai Fong; (iii) Wing Wah Lane; (iv) Wo On Lane; and (v) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street.

The following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic from around 5.00 pm on 24 December 2009 onwards by 3 phases, the implementation of Phases II and III will be depended on the crowd condition:

Phase I (i) D’Aguilar Street between Wellington Street and Wyndham Street; (ii) Lan Kwai Fong; (iii) Wing Wah Lane; (vi) Wo On Lane; and (vii) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street.

Phase II (i) D’Aguilar Street between Queen’s Road Central and Wellington Street; (ii) Stanley Street; and (iii) Wellington Street.

Phase III (i) Wyndham Street between Glenealy and Queen’s Road Central; and (ii) On Lan Street.

(c) St. Joseph’s Church

To facilitate the dispersal of worshippers from St. Joseph’s Church upon the conclusion of the Christmas Eve Mass, the slow lane of Garden Road between Kennedy Road and Lady May Path will be closed to all vehicular traffic, depending on the mass conclusion time and the crowd condition.

(2) Causeway Bay

In the vicinity of Victoria Park (The 44th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo) The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic for designation as pedestrian precinct from 4.00 pm to midnight on 24 December 2009 and from 12.00 noon to midnight daily on 25 and 26 December 2009.

(i) Lockhart Road east of Cannon Street; (ii) East Point Road; and (iii) Great George Street west of Paterson Street.

Depending on the crowd situation, the following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic daily from 6.00 pm to the morning of respective following day on 24, 25 and 26 December 2009.

(i) Sugar Street; (ii) Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street; (iii) Gloucester Road southbound between the ramp leading from Victoria Park Road flyover and Causeway Road (except for vehicles on Tai Hang Road flyover heading for Gloucester Road northbound); (iv) Gloucester Road northbound south of Kingston Street; (v) Great George Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road; (vi) Kingston Street westbound; and (vii) Hing Fat Street will be intermittently closed (except for franchised buses and Green Minibuses(GMBs)) depending on the crowd condition.

During the period of above road closures, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

(i) Vehicles on Cleveland Street will be prohibited from making right turn onto Kingston Street westbound; and (ii) Vehicles on Victoria Park Road flyover heading for Gloucester Road southbound will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road westbound.

(B) SUSPENSION OF PARKING SPACES, CARPARKS AND RESTRICTION OF VEHICLE ACCESS

(1) Central District

The on-street parking spaces on the following road sections will be suspended from 5.00 pm on 24 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the following day: (i) Stanley Street between D’Aguilar Street and Pottinger Street; (ii) Wyndham Street between Arbuthnot Road and Glenealy; (iii) On Lan Street; (iv) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street; and (v) Wellington Street between D’Aguilar Street and Pottinger Street.

(2) Causeway Bay

(a) Hing Fat Street Public Car Park The parking spaces at Hing Fat Street Public Car Park are suspended from 8.00 am on 8 December 2009 to 11.59 pm on 5 January 2010 (except disabled parking space, part of motorcycle parking spaces and metered parking spaces near the exit opening by phases for the use of the public) for the use of Police vehicles and vehicles bearing of the authorization of the organizer of the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo.

(b) Great George Street and Park Lane Hotel During the period of above road closures, vehicles entering or leaving the carparks on Great George Street and the Park Lane Hotel will be restricted until the reopening of concerned. Affected hotels may make use of the bus stop outside Sino Plaza on Gloucester Road to pick up and send off guests through the Airport Express Shuttle Bus.

Vehicles illegally parked will be towed away by the Police without prior notice and may be subject to multiple ticketing.

Special Arrangements on 31 December 2009

(A) ROAD CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC DIVERSIONS

(1) Central District

(a) Central Ferry Piers

“New Year’s Eve Countdown” Open area opposite to Central Ferry Pier No. 7 and 8 will be closed from 12.00 noon on 31 December 2009 to 3.00 am of the following day.

“Hong Kong’s New Year Countdown Celebration”

3 Depending on the crowd condition, the following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic around 6.00 pm on 31 December 2009 onwards in 3 phases or simultaneously if necessary:

Phase I Road Closure (i) The leftmost lane outside Pier No. 4 - 7, Man Kwong Street eastbound will be closed.

Phase II Road Closure (i) Man Po Street will be closed; (ii) Man Yiu Street between Man Kwong Street and Man Cheung Street will be closed; and (iii) Man Kwong Street eastbound will be closed.

Traffic Diversion (i) Traffic along Connaught Road West flyover heading for Man Po Street will be prohibited; (ii) Traffic along Man Yiu Street northbound heading for Man Kwong Street will be prohibited and must turn left onto Man Cheung Street; (iii) Traffic along Man Cheung Street heading for Man Yiu Street northbound will be prohibited and must turn right onto Man Yiu Street southbound; and (iv) Traffic along Man Kwong Street eastbound heading for Man Yiu Street will be prohibited and must make a “U” turn onto Man Kwong Street westbound.

Phase III Road Closure

(i) Man Kwong Street; (ii) Man Chiu Street; (iii) Man Fai Street; (iv) Man Yiu Street between Man Kwong Street and Man Cheung Street; (v) Rumsey Street flyover extension leading to Man Po Street; and (vi) Finance Street.

Traffic Diversion (i) Traffic along Connaught Road West flyover heading for Man Po Street will be prohibited and must go straight onto Connaught Road Central eastbound ; (ii) Traffic along Man Yiu Street northbound heading for Man Kwong Street will be prohibited and must turn left onto Man Cheung Street; (iii) Traffic along Man Cheung Street heading for Man Yiu Street northbound will be prohibited and must turn right onto Man Yiu Street southbound; and (iv) Traffic along Connaught Road Central eastbound heading for Man Kwong Street will be prohibited; and (iv) Traffic along Chung Kong Road eastbound heading for Man Kwong Street or Man Fai Street will be prohibited and must proceed to Connaught Road Central eastbound.

The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from around 11.59 pm on 31 December 2009 during the count down event.

(i) Traffic along Man Kwong Street eastbound will not be allowed to turn right to Man Yiu Street; (ii) Traffic along Man Po Street eastbound will not be allowed to turn right to Man Yiu Street; and (iii) Traffic along Man Yiu Street northbound heading for its junction with Man Cheung Street will be prohibited.

(b) Lan Kwai Fong

The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic for designation as pedestrian precinct from 5.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the following day.

(i) D’Aguilar Street between Wellington Street and Wyndham Street; (ii) Lan Kwai Fong; (iii) Wing Wah Lane; (iv) Wo On Lane; and (v) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street.

Depending on the crowd condition, the following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic around 5.00 pm on 31 December 2009 onwards in 3 phases:

Phase I (i) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street.

Phase II (i) D’Aguilar Street between Queen’s Road Central and Wellington Street; (ii) Stanley Street; and (iii) Wellington Street.

Phase III (i) Wyndham Street between Glenealy and Queen’s Road Central; and (ii) On Lan Street

(c) The Peak and Garden Road Peak Tram Station

The following road closures and traffic arrangements will be implemented from 8.30 pm on 31 December 2009 to 2.00 am on the following day:

(i) Peak Road northbound (outside Peak Galleria) will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for access by local residents or vehicles with permits). All vehicles will be diverted to the southbound carriageway of Peak Road via the slip road next to the carpark entrance of the Peak Galleria;

(ii) Lugard Road, Harlech Road and Mount will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for access by local residents or vehicles with permits);

(iii) Traffic control will be implemented at the entrance of Peak Galleria Carpark to direct all vehicles proceeding to it; and

(iv) The unnamed road from Garden Road leading to World Wild Fund for Nature will be 5 closed except Taxi and Bus.

(2) Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and Tin Hau

(a) Wan Chai North “Hong Kong’s New Year Countdown Celebration”

The following road closures and traffic arrangements may be implemented from around 6.00 pm on 31 December 2009 onwards by two phases if necessary:

Phase I

Road Closure (i) Expo Drive northbound will be closed to all vehicular traffic if necessary;

Traffic Diversion (i) Vehicles on Fenwick Pier Street will be prohibited from making left-turn onto Expo Drive northbound; and (ii) Vehicles on Convention Avenue westbound will be prohibited from making right- turn onto Expo Drive northbound.

Phase II

Road Closure (i) Expo Drive southbound will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

Traffic Diversion (i) Vehicles along Expo Drive westbound must turn left onto Expo Drive Central.

(b) Apple Countdown at Times Square and the New Year’s Eve Countdown at World Trade Centre

The following road closures and special traffic arrangements will be implemented in phases in the vicinity of Times Square from 5.00 pm onwards and World Trade Centre from 8.00 pm onwards on 31 December 2009:

The following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic by phases:

From 5.00 pm onwards (i) Russell Street between Percival Street and Canal Road East; and (ii) Matheson Street between Sharp Street East and Russell Street.

From 6.00 pm onwards (i) Percival Street between Hennessy Road and Leighton Road; (ii) Sharp Street East; (iii) Matheson Street; (iv) Canal Road East between Hennessy Road and Sharp Street East; (v) Tang Lung Street; (vi) Yiu Wa Street; (vii) Yun Ping Road between Lan Fong Road and Kai Chiu Road; 6 (viii) Kai Chiu Road; (ix) Pak Sha Road; (x) Foo Ming Street; (xi) Lee Garden Road between Hennessy Road and Lan Fong Road; and (xii) Jardine's Bazaar.

From 7.00 pm onwards (i) the slow lane of Hennessy Road westbound between Jardine's Bazaar and Canal Road East; (ii) the slow lane of Hennessy Road eastbound between Percival Street and 50 metres east of Canal Road East; and (iii) the western traffic lane of Percival Street between Hennessy Road and Lockhart Road.

From 8.00 pm onwards (i) Percival Street between Hennessy Road and Gloucester Road; (ii) Canal Road East between Gloucester Road and Lockhart Road; (iii) Lockhart Road between Canal Road West and Cannon Street; (iv) Jaffe Road east of Canal Road East; (v) Cannon Street; and (iv) Jaffe Road between Cannon Street and the World Trade Centre.

From 11.00 pm onwards (i) Canal Road West between Sharp Street West and Hennessy Road; (ii) Sharp Street West between Morrison Hill Road and Canal Road West; (iii) Cheung Woo Lane; (iv) Wan Chai Road between Morrison Hill Road and Canal Road West; and (v) Bowrington Road.

The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 8.00 pm onwards:

(i) Vehicles on Gloucester Road will be prohibited from turning onto Canal Road East; and (ii) Vehicles on Canal Road West northbound will be prohibited from turning onto Canal Road East.

Depending on the crowd condition, Hennessy Road may be closed for all vehicular traffic, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

(i) Vehicles on Hennessy Road eastbound heading for Causeway Bay will be diverted to Fleming Road or Marsh Road northbound; (ii) Vehicles on Tin Lok Lane northbound will be diverted to Hennessy Road westbound; (iii) Vehicles on Causeway Road westbound heading for Causeway Bay will be diverted via Leighton Road westbound; (iv) Vehicles on Leighton Road westbound will be prohibited from making right turn onto Pennington Street; and (v) Vehicles on Pennington Street will be prohibited from making right turn onto Yee Wo Street eastbound.

(c) In the vicinity of Victoria Park (The 44th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo)

Road Closures and Pedestrian Precinct The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for designation as pedestrian precinct from 4.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to the morning of the following day, depending on the crowd conditions:

(i) Lockhart Road east of Cannon Street; (ii) East Point Road; and (iii) Great George Street west of Paterson Street.

Road Closures

Depending on the crowd conditions, the following road sections will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to the morning of the following day by phases.

From 6.00 pm onwards (i) Sugar Street; (ii) Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Great George Street; (iii) Gloucester Road southbound between the ramp leading from Victoria Park Road flyover and Causeway Road (except for vehicles on Tai Hang Road flyover heading for Gloucester Road northbound); (iv) Gloucester Road northbound south of Kingston Street; (v) Great George Street between Paterson Street and Gloucester Road; and (vi) Kingston Street westbound.

From 7.00 pm onwards (i) Hing Fat Street (except for franchised buses).

From 8.00 pm onwards (i) Kingston Street; (ii) Paterson Street between Kingston Street and Gloucester Road; and (iii) Cleveland Street.

From 8.00 pm onwards (depending on crowd conditions) (i) One lane of Gloucester Road service road westbound between Victoria Park flyover and Cannon Street; and (ii) Tai Hang Road flyover northbound.

From 11.00 pm onwards (depending on the crowd conditions) (i) Hing Fat Street between Causeway Road and Lau Sin Street; (ii) Tsing Fung Street (except for franchised buses); and (iii) Electric road between Yacht Street and Lau Sin Street (except for franchised buses and vehicles heading for Park Towers).

Traffic Diversions

From 6.00 pm onwards (i) Vehicles on Victoria Park flyover heading Gloucester Road southbound will be diverted to Gloucester Road service road westbound.

From 8.00 pm onwards (i) If necessary, Lau Li Street may be re-routed from one-way eastbound to one-way westbound traffic.

(d) Jardine Midnight Gun

The lay-by on Victoria Park Road outside Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter will be suspended from 9.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 2.00 am on the following day.

(B) SUSPENSION OF PARKING SPACES, CARPARKS AND RESTRICTION OF VEHICLE ACCESS

(1) Central

(a) Lan Kwai Fong From 5.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 6.00 am on the following day, the on-street parking spaces on the following road sections will be suspended:

(i) Wyndham Street between Arbuthnot Road and Glenealy; (ii) Stanley Street between D’Aguilar Street and Pottinger Street; (iii) On Lan Street; and (iv) Wellington Street between Wyndham Street and D’Aguilar Street

(b) The Peak From 7.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 2.00 am on the following day, the on-street parking spaces on the slip road outside Garden Road Peak Tram Station will be suspended.

(2) Causeway Bay

(a) Times Square and its vicinity From 4.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 2.00 am on the following day, the on-street parking spaces on the following road sections will be suspended:

(i) All on-street metered parking spaces on Lockhart Road east of Marsh Road; (ii) All on-street metered parking spaces on Jaffe Road east of Marsh Road; (iii) The carpark at Times Square; (iv) The carpark at Leighton Centre; and (v) The carpark at Yiu Wa Street.

(b) Tung Lo Wan Road From 5.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the following day, all on-street metered parking spaces, parking spaces for motorcycles and disable parking space on Tung Lo Wan Road between King’s Road and Wun Sha Street will be suspended.

(c) Hing Fat Street Public Carpark The parking spaces at Hing Fat Street Public Car Park are suspended from 8.00 am on 8 December 2009 to 11.59 pm on 5 January 2010 (except disabled parking space, 9 part of motorcycle parking spaces and metered parking spaces near the exit opening by phases for the use of the public) for the use of Police vehicles and vehicles bearing of the authorization of the organizer of the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo.

(d) Carparks at Great George Street and Park Lane Hotel From 6.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the following day during the period of above road closures, vehicles entering or leaving the carparks on Great George and Park Lane Hotel will be restricted until reopening of the concerned roads. Affected hotels may make use of the bus stop outside Sino Plaza on Gloucester Road to pick up and send of guests through the Airport Express Shuttle Bus.

Vehicles illegally parked will be towed away by the Police without prior notice and may be subject to multiple ticketing.

(C) Prohibition to Learner Drivers

All learner drivers will be prohibited from driving into the following road sections from 6.00 pm to 11.30 pm on 31 December 2009:

(i) Leighton Road eastbound; (ii) Tin Lok Lane; (iii) Tung Lo Wan Road; (iv) Hing Fat Street; (v) Electric Road between Wing Hing Street and Yacht Street; (vi) Morrison Hill Road northbound; (vii) Hennessy Road east of Marsh Road; (viii) Tin Hau Temple Road between Fortress Hill Road and Causeway Road; and (ix) Causeway Road.

KOWLOON

Tsim Sha Tsui

(A) Road Closures and Traffic Diversions

The following traffic arrangements will be implemented on 24 December 2009 and 31 December 2009 from the times specified below until it is safe to re-open the roads to normal vehicular traffic.

Phase 1 From 6.00 pm on 24 December 2009

(a) Road Closures (i) between Kowloon Park Drive and Salisbury Road; (ii) Ashley Road; (iii) Hankow Road; (iv) Lock Road;

10 (v) northbound between and Salisbury Road; (vi) Nathan Road southbound between and Salisbury Road; (vii) South between Mody Road and Salisbury Road; (viii) ; (ix) Ichang Street (x) ; (xi) Middle Road; (xii) Salisbury Road between Kowloon Park Drive and Mody Lane; (xiii) Salisbury Road Underpass; and (xiv) Kowloon Park Drive southbound (except for franchised buses and GMB only).

(b) Traffic Diversions (i) Franchised buses on Nathan Road southbound will be diverted onto westbound and Jordan Road westbound; (ii) Vehicles on Canton Road southbound will be diverted to enter the China Hong Kong City Terminus or diverted to make an U-turn onto Canton Road northbound at its junction with Kowloon Park Drive; (iii) Vehicles on Nathan Road southbound will be diverted to turn left onto Mody Road eastbound; (iv) Vehicles on Chatham Road South southbound will be diverted onto Mody Road eastbound; (v) Vehicles on Salisbury Road westbound will be diverted onto Mody Lane northbound; and (vi) Vehicles on Kowloon Park Drive northbound will be prohibited from turning left onto Canton Road southbound.

Phase 2 From 6.30 pm on 24 December 2009

(a) Road Closures (i) Kowloon Park Drive; (ii) Salisbury Road between Kowloon Park Drive and Star Ferry Pier Bus Terminus Terminus; and (ii) Star Ferry Pier Bus Terminus.

(b) Bus Routes Diversion (i) All franchised buses will be prohibited from entering the Star Ferry Pier Bus Terminus via Kowloon Park Drive southbound. They will be directed to make an U-turn at Canton Road junction with Kowloon Park Drive. Buses will alight passengers outside Lai Chak Middle School at Canton Road whilst no vehicles will be permitted to stop outside China Hong Kong City.

Phase 3 From 9.00 pm on 24 December 2009

(a) Road Closures (i) Nathan Road northbound between Bowring Street and Granville Road; (ii) Nathan Road southbound between Granville Road and Mody Road; (iii) Carnarvon Road between Nathan Road and Granville Road; 11 (iv) Minden Row; (v) Blenheim Avenue; (vi) Hart Avenue; (vii) Chatham Road South northbound between Granville Road and Mody Road; (viii) Chatham Road South southbound between Cheong Wan Road and Mody Road; (ix) Granville Square; (x) Granville Road between Chatham Road South and Science Museum Road will be re-routed to one-way eastbound and restricted for the use to franchised buses and minibuses only; (xi) Hau Fook Street; (xii) Cameron Lane; (xiii) Cameron Road; (xiv) Humphrey’s Avenue; (xv) Prat Avenue; (xvi) Bristol Avenue; (xvii) Hanoi Road; (xviii) Mody Road between Nathan Road and Mody Square; and (xix) Minden Avenue.

(b) Traffic Diversions (i) Franchised buses on Chatham Road South southbound will be diverted onto Granville Road eastbound; (ii) Vehicles on Nathan Road southbound will be diverted to Granville Road eastbound; (iii) Granville Road between Nathan Road and Carnarvon Road will be re-routed one way eastbound; (iv) Vehicles on Science Museum Road will be prohibited from turning onto Granville Road; (v) Vehicles on Chatham Road South southbound will be diverted to Austin Road or Cheong Wan Road; and (vi) Vehicles on Mody Road westbound will be diverted onto Mody Square.

Phase 4 Additional Road Closure on 24 December 2009 (Depends on crowd situation)

(a) Road Closures (i) Nathan Road northbound between Jordan Road and Bowring Street; (ii) Nathan Road southbound between Jordan Road and Granville Road; (iii) Pine Hill Tree Road; (iv) Carnarvon Road between and Granville Road; (v) Shun Yee Street; (vi) Granville Circuit; (vii) Chatham Road South northbound between and Granville Road; (viii) Bowring Street between Pilkem Street and Nathan Road; (ix) Tak Shing Street between Nathan Road and Tak Hing Street; (x) Hillwood Road; (xi) Kimberley Road between Nathan Road and Observatory Road; (xii) Kimberley Street; (xiii) Granville Road between Nathan Road and Chatham Road South; (xiv) Hung Hom Bypass westbound from its junction with Hung Hom Road; (xv) Hung Hom Bypass southbound from its junction with Metropolis Drive;

12 (xvi) Hung Hom Bypass eastbound from its junction with Mody Lane; (xvii) Salisbury Road between Science Museum Road and Mody Lane; (xviii) U-turn slip-road outside Nikko Hotel leading from Salisbury Road eastbound onto Salisbury Road westbound; (xix) Salisbury Road southbound from Hong Chong Road and its elevated road; (xx) Hong Wan Path; (xxi) Mody Square; (xxii) Mody Road between Mody Square and Science Museum Road; and (xxiii) Science Museum Path.

(a) Suspension of on-street parking spaces in Tsim Sha Tsui All on-street parking spaces in Tsim Sha Tsui area south of Austin Road and Cheong Wan Road will be suspended from 3.00 pm on 24 December 2009 until 3.00 am on 26 December 2009, and from 3.30 pm on 31 December 2009 to 3.00 am on the following day All the parking spaces at the West Kowloon Temporary Waterfront Promenade will be suspended from 3.30 pm on 31 December 2009 to 3.00 am on the following day.

Vehicles illegally parked will be towed away by the Police without prior notice and may be subject to multiple ticketing.

(b) Restriction of Vehicle Access During the period of above road closure, vehicles entering or leaving the hotels and carparks within the affected are will be restricted until reopening of the concerned roads. Vehicles bearing a hotel logo will be permitted to set down passengers at the following locations only: (i) Chatham Road South at the junction with Mody Road (before the implementation of arrangements in Phase 3 on 24 December 2009 and Phase 5 on 31 December 2009); and

17 (ii) Kowloon Park Drive at the junction with Peking Road (before the implementation of arrangements in Phase 1 on 24 December 2009 and Phase 2 on 31 December 2009).

During the suspension period, GMB Route nos. 21K and 43M will use the lay-by on Cherry Street outside Olympian City Two as a GMB drop off and pick up point.

The above routes will be diverted via King’s Road, Ngan Mok Street, Lau Li Street and King’s Road on their ways to Causeway Bay; NWFB Route 15B departing from Causeway Bay (Tin Hau) will operate via Tung Lo Wan Road and Moreton Terrace before resuming their original routings. The bus stops for the above routes at Causeway Road outside Central Library will be suspended and temporary bus stops will be erected along Tung Lo Wan Road and Moreton Terrace; (iii) NWFB Route 25 on its journey to Braemar Hill will be operated along King's Road eastbound and omit its en-route bus stop at Tin Hau Station Public Transport Interchange; and (iv) Citybus Route 307P will be teminated at No. 1-11 Ngan Mok Street.

(e) Temporary Bus Stop Arrangements Depending on the crowd situation, the following temporary bus stop arrangements will be implemented:

Temporary suspension of Public Light Bus Stand

Public Light Bus Stand at Sugar Street will be suspended at the time specified:

(i) From 6.00 pm to the morning of the following day daily on 24, 25 and 26 December 2009 may be implemented, depending on the density of the crowd; and (ii) From 6.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 4.00 am on the following day.

Public Light Bus Stand at Stanley Street will be suspended at the time specified:

(i) From 5.00 pm on 24 December 2009 to 6.00 am on the following day; and (ii) From 5.00 pm on 31 December 2009 to 6.00 am on the following day.

Temporary Suspension and Relocation of Taxi Stands

The taxi stands and taxi pick-up and drop off points at the following locations will be suspended at the time specified:

Central

From 12.00 noon on 31 December 2009 to 3.00 am on the following day:

(i) The taxi stand adjacent to Central Pier No. 7 and 8 (Star Ferry) will be suspended; and (ii) The taxi stands outside Central Piers No. 6 and 7 will be relocated to a taxi pick-up / drop off point outside Pier No. 4 and 5.

From 6.00 pm onwards on 31 December 2009 if necessary: The taxi stands, GMB stands and bus stops along Man Kwong Street eastbound within closed roads will be suspended.

From 8.30 pm on 31 December 2009 to 2.00 am on the following day: The taxi stand at the slip road outside Lower Peak Tram Station will be suspended and relocated to the lay-by on Garden Road outside Lower Peak Tram Station. A temporary taxi drop off point will be designated on the slip road opposite to the Lower Peak Tram Station. 55

III. ATTENTION AND APPEAL

Notices will be put up by public transport operators to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. Actual implementation of the road closure, traffic control and public transport diversions will be made by the Police at the time depending on the prevailing circumstances, traffic and crowd conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised that strict enforcement on illegal parking, including multiple ticketing and towing, will be taken by the Police in the affected areas.

The public heading to the affected area is advised to plan their journey early and allow more travelling time to cater for unexpected delay. The public is also advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. For public transport commuters, they should pay attention to the arrangements of route diversions and suspension of stops. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, take heed of instruction of the Police and watch out for the latest traffic news through media.
