CALVIN MAGEE, who has worked with some of college football’s most explosive offensive performers over the past decade, enters his fi rst season as Pitt’s assistant head coach, co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach. Magee comes to Pittsburgh after spending the past three years as associate head coach and offensive coordinator at Michigan. The 2010 Wolverines featured one of the nation’s most dynamic offensive talents in Denard Robinson, who ranked second nationally in total offense (328.62 yards/game) and was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year. Robinson fi nished sixth in the balloting last year and became the fi rst player in NCAA history to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,500 in a single season. He fi nished with 2,570 passing yards and set an NCAA single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,702. TONY GIBSON enters his fi rst season as secondary coach and pass defense coordinator at Pitt. While he is new to Pittsburgh, Gibson is very familiar with Western Pennsylvania recruiting circles and the Big East Conference. He actively recruited the region while on the staffs at Michigan (2008-10) and Big East member West Virginia (2001-07) over the past decade. Gibson served as the assistant head coach and defensive backs coach at Michigan the past three years. He added special teams coordinator to his duties in 2010. During his time in Ann Arbor he oversaw the development of fi rst-team All-Big Ten Donovan Warren. As defensive backs coach at West Virginia, Gibson produced eight All-Big East performers and had six of his players selected in the NFL Draft. His secondary standouts at WVU included fi rst team All-American Adam Jones, who played with the Cincinnati Bengals this past season. The Mountaineers won or shared four Big East titles during Gibson’s time in Morgantown, capturing BCS bowl victories following the 2005 (Sugar Bowl) and 2007 (Fiesta Bowl) seasons. Leftwich comes to Pittsburgh after spending the 2010 season on Todd Graham’s staff at Tulsa, where his offensive line helped the Golden Hurricane rank fi fth nationally in total offense (505.62 yards/game). The offensive front played a vital role in Tulsa’s 10-3 campaign, capped by a 62-35 win over 24th-ranked Hawai’i in the Sheraton Hawai’i Bowl. The Golden Hurricane had a 3,600-yard passer and averaged more than 216 rushing yards per game. The 2010 season marked Leftwich’s second appointment at Tulsa as he previously coached its offensive line from 2003-06. Griswold’s efforts were instrumental in helping Tulsa fi eld one of the country’s most explosive teams over the past decade. The highly conditioned Golden Hurricane averaged nearly 80 plays a game in 2010, ranking fi fth nationally in total offense, sixth in scoring and 15th in rushing yards. Tulsa’s mentally tough defense ranked third in turnovers forced. Prior to Tulsa, Philbrick spent 20 years in various coaching roles in Oklahoma high schools since 1984. He was the head football coach at three different high schools, including Edmond North (2005-07), Tulsa Memorial (1998-2000) and Edmond Santa Fe (1995-97). He spent three seasons (2007-09) as the Director of Leadership at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City. Philbrick also served as the head track coach and was an assistant coach with the football and basketball teams. Previously, he was the head football coach at Edmond North High School for three years (2005-07). Philbrick taught and coached at Holland Hall High School in Tulsa for fi ve years (2000-05). CHRIS LASALA is in his 15th year with the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department. LaSala has served Pitt as an assistant athletic director the past 12 years. A native of Aliquippa, Pa., LaSala worked as Pitt’s director of football operations from 1997-2010. In 2011, his focus has expanded to not only serve the football program but also broader duties that impact the overall athletic department. In 2004 he was named a recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence in service to the University of Pittsburgh. In 2006 LaSala was recognized as an “Outstanding Graduate” of Temple University’s sport/recreation administration program. After spending nearly four decades in the coaching ranks, BOB JUNKO moved to the administrative side of college football in 2007 as Pitt’s director of football relations and program enhancement. Junko is a natural for the role given his tremendous football acumen and contacts. Now in his fi fth year in that capacity, he assists in the daily operations of the program and also has a focus on the Panthers’ extended family of football alumni. One of the best-known football fi gures in the tri-state area, Junko has been a highly valuable fi gure within the Pitt program. He played a major role in the Panthers’ recruiting successes over the past decade and in 2006 was named one of the nation’s top 25 recruiters by Rivals.com. The 2011 season marks the 15th year of Junko’s second tour at Pittsburgh. He initially coached at Pitt from 1982-85, serving as defensive coordinator under head coach . He returned in 1997 as defensive tackles coach under and was elevated to assistant head coach in 2000. Prior to returning to Pittsburgh, Junko was the defensive coordinator at Kent State from 1995-96. Junko also served as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator for seven years at Akron (1988-94). He additionally held similar positions at Northwestern, TCU and Tulsa, his alma mater. ROB BLANC is in his 24th year as head football athletic trainer and clinical instructor at Pitt. With his exceptional sports medicine knowledge and experience, Blanc is a tremendous resource for the entire Pitt athletic department. Since his appointment as head athletic trainer in 1993, he has been responsible for overseeing all of the clinical medical services for Pitt. Blanc additionally has led Pitt’s Performance Team the last 11 years. The Performance Team is a unique blending of the university’s numerous resources to serve the total well being of Pitt student-athletes. Blanc coordinates sports coverage, budget, inventory, drug testing and counseling. Additionally, he is an adjunct clinical instructor for Pitt’s undergraduate athletic training curriculum, approved by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA). In 2009, Blanc co-authored the textbook Emergency Care in Athletic Training with three graduates of the University of Pittsburgh. COACHING STAFF Blanc graduated from Slippery Rock in 1982 and earned his master’s in athletic training in 1984 from Ohio University. He is also a certifi ed paramedic and was involved in an emergency medical service for 17 years in nearby Bethel Park. EQUIPMENT MANAGER ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO COACH GRAHAM Tim Enright is in his 15th year as the head equipment manager for the Pitt football team. In this capacity he supervises the equipment operation for the 100-plus member team, including organizing travel and transportation of equipment for away games and managing the day-to-day equipment needs for the players and coaching staff. Enright has a long association with Pitt football and the University of Pittsburgh. As an JOYCE SALSBURY undergraduate at Pitt, he was a student football manager (1987-91) and served as the team’s head manager his senior year. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO COORDINATORS Following graduation in 1991, Enright worked one year at Martin Media Advertising before serving as a youth counselor at the Shuman Detention Center. He returned to his alma mater in 1993 as an assistant equipment manager in charge of the men’s basketball team. Enright was promoted to his current post with the football team in 1997. He has handled the equipment travel for 11 bowl teams in total at Pitt.

His duties include assisting in the daily equipment operations for the football team and coaching staff. Kozusko served as a student manager from 2004-2007 and is the recipient of the prestigious George I. Carson Graduate Fellowship Award. Kozusko has experience working with the other sports teams in the city, as he worked with the ROBYN JURCZAK Pittsburgh Steelers from 2000-2003, assisting the team throughout training camp in his hometown of Latrobe and at all home games.
