Welcome to the 16th edition of Cudgee Update – Cudgee Primary School’s community newsletter.

The end of the year is upon us and we have been winding up another exciting and wonderful year of learning and opportunities at our school.

Last week we held our School Concert which for our small but growing school community epitomises everything that our school stands for: students who have opportunities to be engaged and own their learning with families and teachers who support them. Grade 2 Camp The Grade 2s from Cudgee joined Nullawarre and Panmure Primary Schools for their first overnight school camping experience. School Captains’ report… This year the school has accomplished many fun activities including: the Athletic Sports day, art gallery excursions, our annual concert, the Sovereign Hill camp where the 3-4s dressed up as 1850s children, State School Spectacular - a music camp for grades 5-6 where we sang in a choir, Roses Gap - the 5-6 camp in the Grampians, grade 2 camp in Port Fairy, gymnastic sessions, Cudgee clean-up day and the Go Surf program. We have enjoyed our year of being school leaders and will definitely come back to it next year if we can. Brike and Grace (School Captains)

Junior School Council - End of Year Report This year J.S.C has accomplished many things such as the seed sale, footy colours day, Tracky Dack Day and Dress up as your Favourite Sport or Celebrity Idol. Unfortunately we will not be producing the school newspaper but there may be one next year. We have recently bought a Christmas tree and two packets of lights for our Christmas trees. Have a safe and happy summer holiday. Thank you for your support.

2018 School Concert It was great to see so many people from the school and wider community at the end of year concert. Each grade presented a play and showcased some of their learning in music throughout the year. Well done to all involved.

Look who’s coming to Cudgee…

School Awards 2018 During the concert, we also awarded a number of school awards.

Panmure Country Women’s Association provided us with a scholarship this year for 2 grade 6 students. Congratulations Jada and Brike!

Warrnambool East Rotary provide us with a $75 award to acknowledge academic excellence. This year we would like to congratulate Violet on winning this award.

The annual Mary McKinnon (Nee Meade) Endeavour Award of $250 is given to 2 students who have shown friendship, compassion and decency toward others and demonstrated a commitment to learning and our school community through: o their effort and perseverance o being active participants in their own learning o setting goals for their lives and striving to achieve them. This year we would like to congratulate Grace and Brike on winning this award.
