Five shooters were taking their positions on the shooting tracks and there were three shooters waiting their turn behind the fence. The assistant secretary was standing in the gateway looking along the road, hoping a couple more shooters would come along to make another full squad. Suddenly a fully grown rabbit bolted from the oatma outside the shooting ground and crossed about 20 yards in front of the trap house. Several of the guns in the squad moved but none as fast as one owned by a shooter who cleared the right cuff of his jacket at the same time calling "I'll take it", both barrels of a Win. Just how that came about I am not too cem, unless it was to make things easier for the shooter or shooters who in despair decided as I have often heard "to give it all up ad go fishing!!" AUSTRALIAN CLAY TARGET SHOOTING NEWS-FEBRUARY 1983 Page 45 Sydney Clay Target Club's two day Video Shoot held on 30l31.10.82 was a great success. Shooters arrived from some ten clubs throughout the state with 56 shooters on Saturday and 78 on Sunday. It was just a comfortable crowd to cater for. Over $3000 worth of prizes were displayed and shot for, being possibly the richest table ever presented at Sydney. Sa- turday started out a perfect day, the traps were set and the shoot got under way at 12.30 pm, about the same time as the gusty winds came up, playing havoc with the targets for the rest of the day. And trapshooters having the sweet disposition and understanding they have when it comes to anything but perfect targets, I thought we were in for some hard times, but everybody took the windy conditions in their stride. The first event, an eye opener, saw I1 possibles to share the money. Next event was the Blue Dot DB Continental Cham- pionship. r Trophy Table, Sydney two day shoot Then came the big one, the Video Trophy 50T DB. This seemed serious business, the shooters quieter and the squads moved through more slowly with the concentration. Once again W. Jones took A and OA with J. Smith (Cowra) 2nd, V. Gatt (Royal Aem) 3rd. B grade, P. Etherton (Wake- hurst) ist, G. Lyman (Sydney)Znd, W. Baxkr (Goulburn)3rd. C grade, J. Abela (Hawkesbury) Ist, G. Buckley (Goulburn) 2nd, P. &pantis (Newcastle) 3rd. The last event on the card was the Japp Ammo Cham- pionship and a chance to relax a little. A grade, D. Osbourne 1st. F. Sribinouski 2nd. B grade, P. Etherton 1st. S. Tosan 2nd. C grade, G. Buckley 1st. C. Mason 2nd. Overall High Gun for the two days was K. Loy with 208-210, a top score even under ideal conditions. A grade high gun J. Smitith; B grade high gun S. Tosan; C grade high gun F. Roberts. The committee of management would Like to thank the referees and those who helped organise the shoot and meals. Also the sponsors for their support with overall trophies.

o Winner of A Grade Bill Jones, wifh Sydney Club President, Ron Fenton. A Continental was exactly what everybody needed on a windy day, but surprisingly the possibles kept rolling in with the final result: J. Smith (Cowra) taking A and OA, T. Ansell (Sydney) second. B grade, 1st P. Rose (Sydney), 2nd B. Samuels (Sydney); C grade, R. -ble (Royal Aero) Ist, W. Baxter (Goulburn) 2nd. r Group shot of all winners and place getters over iwo day The main event on Saturday was the Western Firearms DB shoot.
