Be Part of WPR's Online Community AROUND WISCONSIN The Moth in Madison and Milwaukee For the past few years, WPR has sponsored The Moth StorySLAMs in Milwaukee. The monthly events invite amateur storytellers to share a five-minute personal tale live onstage in front of an audience. All the stories are recorded for possible national broadcast, and each month's winning storyteller is invited back for a special annual GrandSLAM story competition. The Moth 2016 GrandSLAM in Milwaukee is scheduled for Thursday, February 11 at Turner Hall. If you've never seen The Moth live before, it's a great way to see some of the best amateur talent in the city. Tickets are on sale now ---- find details here. Also in February, The Moth is expanding its local StorySLAMs to Madison. The monthly competitions will follow the same format as they have in Milwaukee but will take place at the High Noon Saloon on East Washington Avenue. Live From Eau Claire Michael Feldman is bringing his Whad'Ya Know? show to the State Theatre in downtown Eau Claire on May 21 at 10 a.m. The comedy quiz and interview show will be broadcast live and include special guests, All the News That Isn't, two hilarious rounds of the Whad'Ya Know? Quiz and more.
