9 8 CARMEN OHIO Words by Fred A. Cornell, '06 (Spanish Chant) Ohl come let's sing Ohio's praise, And songs to Alma Mater raise; While our hearts rebounding thrill, With joy which death alone can strll. Summer's heat or Winter's cold, The seosons pass, the years will roll; Tim, and change will surely show How firm thy friendship Ohio. Th ese jolly days of priceless worth, Sy far the gladdest days of earth, Soon will pass and we not know How dearly we love Ohio. We should strive to keep thy name Of fair repute a·nd spotless fame: So, in college halls we' ll grow To love thee better Ohio. Tho' age may d im our mem'ry's store, We'll think of happy days of yore, True to friend and frank to foe, As sturdy sons of Ohio. If on seas of care we roll, ' Neath blackened sky, o'er barren shoal, Tho'ts of thee bid darkness go, Dear Alma Mater Ohio.

Scenes like these greeted Ohio State University's " homecomers" in 1950 when Michigan out-Eskimoed the Buckeyes 9 to 3 ;,. Photos by Home of Portra.fts what has been termed the " Blizzard Bowl". The mercury dropped from 20 degrees to five during the afternoon. Snow, which blank eted the field during the day, was 10 inches deep when the game ended. Had good weather prevailed, more than 80,000 would have watched the struggle. Some 50,000 braved the elements to witness the historical spectacle, voted by the nation's press as the " Sporh Oddity of 1950".
