2. Install apps from the Microsoft Store a. Launch the Store app from the or the . b. Some apps and games are free, some are not. c. Before you can buy or download an app you must be signed in with your Microsoft account. d. Payment options - A credit card must be attached to your account to purchase apps. You do not need to attach a credit card for free apps. e. Searching for apps using the search field near the top. f. Before purchasing/installing an app i. Check that app works on your device. ii. Check system requirements to make sure your computer can run the app. iii. Under “This app can” check the list of the features the app can access on your computer. g. Once downloaded the app is yours and tied to your account so you can download it later. h. Launch an app from the start menu. i. Check for app updates using the menu in top right corner and click “Get updates”.

3. Uninstall apps a. Apps from the Microsoft app store – right click on the app in the Start menu and select uninstall. b. Apps not installed from the Microsoft app store – right click on the app in the Start menu and select Uninstall. A list of apps you have installed on your system. Select the app you want to uninstall and click the Uninstall button. Follow the prompts. c. Many apps that came bundled with Windows do not have the Uninstall app. d. Start > > Apps > Apps & features i. Shows information on a lot of apps installed on your computer. ii. Select an app and you can click uninstall.

4. Set App privacy and permissions a. Start > Settings > Privacy b. Under “App Permissions” you will see a number of subcategories below it. You can go into each of these subcategories one by one, and set a global permission for all apps that have requested that permission. c. While in a subcategory, you can also set permissions individually for the apps that have requested that permission.

5. Find permissions that each app has requested a. Start > scroll and find the app you are interested in > Right Click the app > More > App settings > App permissions b. Turn on or off permissions that app has requested c. Not available for all apps.
