La Ronge EMS is currently seeking for Permanent Full-Time (PFT). La Ronge EMS is a privately run Ambulance service located in beautiful Northern Saskatchewan. La Ronge is located approximately 2.5 hours North of Prince Albert and 3.5 hours North of . La Ronge EMS is a unionized service that employs approximately 35 staff in a private contract with Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS). La Ronge EMS provides great benefits for all staff, along with a Northern living allowance and yearly Northern Retention bonus of $1900.00 on each anniversary date. La Ronge EMS covers one of the largest areas in the province both by ground Ambulance while also providing Air Medevac Services to the majority of Northern Saskatchewan as well into some parts of Manitoba and Alberta in a modernized King Air 200.

La Ronge EMS responds to over 300 emergency and non-emergency calls a month and 70-80 Air Medevacs a month averaging over 4200 calls per year. Shifts include 12-hour Day and Nights along with 24 hours on call. La Ronge EMS Staffs 4 ground Ambulances, 1 Supervisor Unit and 3 dedicated Air Medevac Crews always.

Full-time position (PPT) consists of 2-12hr Day shifts (0700-1900), 1-24 on call shift, 2-12hr Night Shifts (1900-0700) followed by 5 days off. La Ronge EMS follows the current wage grid for ACP as of April 1, 2021 in the Provincial Health Science Contract, ACP ($34.606 - $42.280) an hour, $4.25 an hour on call including shift difference and weekend premiums, monthly scheduled STAT days off, Regular, and double Overtime when applicable.

Successful Applicants:

Successful applicants must hold a valid Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) license or in the application process with the College to meet hiring requirements. Applicants must also have a good understanding of the following,

• Saskatchewan College of Paramedics Protocols and understanding full scope of Practice applicable to level of training. • Saskatchewan Ambulance Act, Traffic Safety Act, and Paramedic Act.

Applicants must also be able to meet the requirements of the company:

• The Ability to work to the full scope of practice (ACLS/PALS) • Excellent verbal and written communication • Able to adapt to the possibility of heavy workload. • Able to work as part of the health care team in the Pre-hospital and Hospital settings. • Demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and integrity. • Adhere to the visions, values, Policy and Procedures of La Ronge EMS and Saskatchewan Health Authority. • Maintain a good attendance record is strongly required.

As part of the La Ronge EMS team the practitioner will be required to:

• Perform daily and nightly checks on units and other assigned responsibilities and duties. • Perform regular cleaning on ambulances, equipment and base and making sure all Ambulances are restocked, cleaned and ready to respond. • Attend the company education sessions to maintain continues medical education with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics – (SCoP) • Provide a positive attitude in the workplace and function as a leader. • Completed all documentation in a professional and timely manner while also providing copies and report to receiving Health Care Facility. • Providing continues safety. • Be prepared to always respond by following company and dispatching guidelines in an appropriate response time (set out by the company and the MCRRHA) for emergency calls and Transfers.
