“Bodhinyana Great Southern” will be the very first official Ajahn Brahm branch monastery in Albany.

The idea behind this project comes from an ever-increasing demand for Buddhist teachings and meditation guidance in Albany and Denmark. In addition, with the growing interest in at Ajahn Brahm’s Bodhinyana Monastery in Serpentine, Ajahn is encouraging experienced monks to look at setting up branch to open up places at Bodhinyana for aspirants.

The proposed monastery building footprint is to be relatively small, surrounded by pristine bushland, the Great Southern Ocean and peaceful National Park. The location hoped for this new monastery is a 160-acre property in Elleker, where Venerable Mudu , a disciple of Ajahn Brahm, has stayed during previous teaching visits over the past 18 months.

Venerable Mudu is currently preparing plans as a part of the Development Application for submission to the City of Albany.
