LA FAUSTO COPPI – 30.06.2020 EXTRACT from the RULES

1. EVENT DESCRIPTION: the “La Fausto Coppi” Granfondo is an international competitive cycling marathon held in the Alps mountain range of north western now in its 33nd edition. A limitation of 2800 places will be applied to the Granfondo in 2020.

2. DATE: Sunday June 28th , 2020.

3. START AREA: , Piazza Galimberti – Start area opens at 6:15 am.

4. START TIME: 7:00 am.

5. CHARITY GRID: those riders who wish to ride in support of the project “Save the mountain roads” can purchase an increased entry fee that will be entirely donated to the Project. This entry fee allows them to start in front in a separate grid. Charity entry fee costs 100,00 € and it is limited to 200 places.

6. MEDIOFONDO RACE COURSE: 111 km / 2510 m+ Cuneo, , , , , , , , , , , Cuneo.

7. GRANFONDO RACE COURSE 177 km / 4125 m+ Cuneo, , Busca, Costigliole di , , , , Valmala, , , , Montemale, Valgrana, Monterosso Grana, Pradleves, Castelmagno, Demonte, Valdieri, Borgo San Dalmazzo, Cuneo.

8. ENTRY: the event is open to all riders of both sexes aged 17 or over. Riders under 18 years of age shall submit a parental consent. Riders aged over 64 and under 17 are allowed to ride only the Mediofondo (111km ). All participants must hold a valid licence for Competitive Cycling issued by National Federations recognised by UCI. Licences for category “Cycling for all”, Triathlon or any other sport are not valid, riders who hold these licences must purchase a Day Licence as per Art. 9 of this regulations. All riders who do not clearly display the start number or do not wear the official “La Fausto Coppi” race jersey for the current edition are not allowed to join the race and will be immediately expelled from the race course. Any accident they might cause will be immediately reported to police officers in conformity with law. The Organizing Committee may, at any time and at its own discretion, decide to accept or not a registration or exclude an already registered rider.

9. DAY LICENCE: riders without a valid cycling licence must get a Day Licence , valid only for the day of the race, submitting a sport medical certificate issued by a sports medicine doctor or a sports medicine centre stating that they have been submitted to a complete cardiac diagnostic test (exercise ECG) and that they are physically fit to participate to competitive cycling events. The medical Certificate must be uploaded when entering the race. Price of the Day Licence: 10,00 €.

10. ADMISSION RESTRICTIONS: entries of the following riders will not be accepted by the organizers:  Pro cyclists  Elite and professionals under 23 athletes The above mentioned riders can take part in La Fausto Coppi exclusively for promotional purposes and upon invitation from the Organizing Committee. They will not enter the overall ranking.

11. EBIKE RESTRICTIONS: only conventional bicycles can be used. The use of electronically assisted bicycles is strictly prohibited, on pain of disqualification or exclusion.

12. ON LINE ENTRY SYSTEM: on line registration through https://shop.endu.net/edit/47276 On line entry closes on Thursday 25th June 2020 at midnight (unless sold out before that date). By submitting the Entry Form riders declare: - to hold a valid UCI license or a valid sport medical certificate for cycling (see Art. 9 above) - to have read and understood these Rules and do agree to comply with them and any other rules stipulated by the Organizer. Entry shall be valid only if complete with cycling license or medical certificate.

13. REGISTRATIONS DEADLINE: on line registration close on Thursday 25th June 2020 at midnight (unless sold out before that date). Should the limit number of 2800 places not be reached within the deadline date, registration will continue on Saturday 27th directly in Cuneo – Piazza Galimberti from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. This term can be changed by the Organizing Committee at its own discretion for operational or safety reasons.

14. ENTRY FEES:

 500 numbers at 40,00 €  45 euro no later than December 31, 2019 (2800 bike number plates available until sell-out).  50 euro no later than March 31, 2020 (2800 bike number plates available until sell-out).  55 euro no later than May 15, 2020 (2800 bike number plates available until sell-out).  60 euro no later than June 25, 2020 (2800 bike number plates available until sell-out).  100 euro for 200 places / starting grid. Revenues from this sale will be donated to the project “Save the mountain routes”.

Saturday 28th June the entry fee is 70,00 €, unless all start numbers have been sold out before

ENTRY FEE INCLUSIONS: the entry fee includes the following: La Fausto Coppi official jersey 2020 that must be worn throughout the race under penalty of disqualification, race number plates, gifts and complimentary gadgets by the race sponsors, en- route food stations, medical assistance, showers, Italian pasta party, prizes for top rankers; SAG wagon for riders unable to end the race, massage therapy for finishers.

15. CANCELLATION: if a rider wishes to cancel his participation to the event for whatever the reason, he must notify the Organization in writing by e-mail ([email protected]) within 15/05/2020, 2020, providing his/her name and contact details. In case of cancellation requests the entry will be kept valid for the next edition of La Fausto Coppi Entry fees are non-refundable. No refund is foreseen in case of a cancellation of the race for circumstances beyond organization control.

16. PRE-RACE REGISTRATION: pre-race registration will take place in Cuneo, Piazza Galimberti on Saturday June 27th 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. and Sunday June 28th 2020 (before the race start) from 5.45 to 6.30 a.m. At pre-race registration you will collect your race bage with official La Fausto Coppi Jersey 2019 and start number. IMPORTANT: to receive your start number you must show your valid licence or medical certificate.

CHECKPOINTS: riders that are not detected when passing the checkpoints may be disqualified.

17. CHIP TIMING: the timing service will be provided by MySDAM - MyLaps ® technology. Each rider must wear the transponder at all times during the Race. The transponder can be rented the day before the race (valid for this race only)http://www.sdam.it/user/data/chip.do?request_locale=en VALID TRANSPONDER TYPES: My SDAM A-CHIP (round shape, green color) enable “Ciclismo e MTB 2018” CHAMPIONCHIP YELLOW CHIP (round shape, yellow color) Daily CHIP MYSDAM to rent at the cost of 5 € + 5 € deposit returned at the chip drop after the race CHIP timing strap is mandatory for security reasons. Riders without transponder will not be timed.

18. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT: - Transponder, - Survival blanket - Helmet: each rider must wear a helmet at all times while riding during the Race. All helmets must comply with international ‘ANSI’ standards. Infringement of this security requirement will lead to immediate disqualification of the competitor. - Equipment to repair punctures i.e. spare tubes or tires, CO2 cartridges and/or pumps, liquid latex and tools for replacing a tire - Water bottle - Supplementary clothing suitable for high mountain racing and in case of unexpected changes in the weather conditions. - Number plate: it must be attached to the front of the bike - Bib number on the back

19. FOOD STATIONS: riders will find 5 food stations in the following places: Santuario di Valmala, La Piatta, Santuario di Castelmagno, Colle della Fauniera, Madonna del Colletto. Water will be supplied only in plastic cups or in dispensers to fill the riders’ water bottles. Flying bottles are not allowed. Disposing of garbage of any kind on the race course will lead to disqualification.

20. SUPPORT VEHICLE: Team cars or personal support cars are not allowed during the race.

21. RIDERS OBLIGATIONS: Riders are asked to follow the itinerary, to privilege sportsmanship and fairness, and to conform to any decision taken by the Organizers. Riders must observe at all times during the race all traffic regulations in force.

22. RECOVERY TRUCK: Special buses and trucks will be available for the recovery of those participants, and their bicycles, who are unable to complete the race. Bikes could be loaded on the trucks at a different time. The organizers accept no responsibility with regard to any damage occurred during transport. 23. FINISH TIME: the finish line closes after 10 hours from the start. Cut-off time 5:00 pm.

24. CUT-OFF TIMES : Due to safety concerns or any other reason which the Organizers consider appropriate, cut-off times have been designated in the following places Monterosso Grana cut-off time 12.30 pm (at km 96 long course), Festiona (beginning of Madonna del Colletto climb) cut-off time 3.30 pm (at km 143 long course).

25. COMPLAINTS: any protest including evidence of the same must be submitted in writing and signed to the race jury within half an hour of posting of preliminary results. A fixed deposit (established by the Federal Committee) must accompany any protest before it will be considered. If the protest is not upheld the deposit shall not be refunded. The name of the claimant shall or not be disclosed. Deposit can be returned only if the protest is upheld. Collective complaints, signed by more than one person, are not admitted.

26. AWARDS: prizes will be given to the first man and the first woman of the overall ranking, to the top three competitors in each category and to the club with the largest number of registered participants. Award Ceremony schedule: Mediofondo 2:00 pm. Granfondo 2:30 pm. Prizes will be given exclusively to the rider who attend the Award Ceremony.

 AGE CATEGORIES: Elite Sport 19/29 Master 1 30/34 Master 2 35/39 Master 3 40/44 Master 4 45/49 Master 5 50/54 Master 6 55/59 Master 7 60/64 Master 8 65 or over (Mediofondo only) Master Women 1 19/39 Master Women 2 40/49 Master Women 3 50 or over Athletes with disabilities N.B.: riders aged 17 or 18 (on the day of the race June 30, 2019) do not enter the ranking.

DISQUALIFICATION: following behaviour will lead to disqualification: - riding with the race number of another rider; - not wearing the official 2019 Jersey; - disposing of garbage of any kind on the race course; - failing to observe at all times during the race all traffic regulations in force; - climbing over the barriers to move into a more advanced gate; - failing to follow the race course.

27. ETHICAL REQUIREMENT: by signing and sending the registration form the athlete, together with the team representative, self-certifies that s/he is not serving a ban by a federation for a doping violation. Should this be the case registration will be refused. The athlete, together with the team representative, also self-certifies that no inquiry is underway for events related to doping. The athlete, together with the representative of her/his, team also certifies that s/he has never ever taken doping substances included in the list of the World Antidoping Agency (WADA)(http://www.wada- ama.org/Documents/World_Anti-Doping_Program/WADP-Prohibited-list/2013/WADA-Prohibited-List- 2013-EN.pdf). Perjury shall be prosecuted.

28. SIGNATURE: transfer image rights: in completing and signing the online registration form, riders declare to be in possession of a valid racing license and/or medical certificate, to have fully read and understood these rules and regulations and to have expressed their consent to the use of their personal information according to the Privacy Law n. 196 of 30/06/2003. In relation to the information notice according to Art. 13 of EU Regulation 679/2016, the competitor must declare that he/she has viewed said information notice published on the website www.faustocoppi.net and that he/she has been informed as to the compulsory nature of providing consent for the related processing for the purposes indicated under Art. 2) of the aforementioned information notice, through selection for acceptance of the relevant box on the online registration form for the processing of personal data, aware that failure to provide consent for processing of data for the aims indicated in Art. 2) of the information notice, will imply the impossibility to proceed with the registration for the activity in question. The data must be complete and legible also for insurance purposes. With consent for the processing of his/her personal data the competitor expressly authorises the ASD Fausto Coppi on the road for his/her data to be transmitted and processed also by third parties who offer services connected with the Granfondo La Fausto Coppi such as those having the purpose of timing the races, drafting and announcing lists of results and those having aims such as photographing or filming the competitor. For that purpose, please also carefully read the privacy information notices of our partners: ENGAGIGO srl e SDAM srl According to Art. 4 of EU Regulation 679/2016, processing of personal data means “any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data or on sets of personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction”. In relation to the lists of results and classifications, the publication of photos, videos and audios and/or video recordings of any kind, the company will use such data and images of the athlete for internal and external use (various publications, sports films, electronically and on the company website www.faustocoppi.net). In relation to the images and/or video recordings, the athlete may appear alone or together with other subjects during the initiatives promoted by and for the Company. RISK It is believed that the competitor knows: - even if the organization guarantee a high level of security, it is impossible to avoid “sport risks”. - that entering in this competition has risks and it is possible to suffer both minor and sever injuries in this sport. - to take responsibility of the “sport’s risk”, it means that every competitor has to take ownership for his/her MTB riding during the competition and whilst exploring the surrounding area. - that should you cause injury to another competitor or see a competitor injured on the trail it is your responsibility to stop and assist them until competition first aid arrives. - that there are many competitors and spectators at this event and it’s possible that it will be times where the paths are crowded with competitors who are struggling on trails.
