Dana Fujikuni was Sun. 28 • CSUN W, 3-1 named the tournament MVP as the Big West Midfielder of the Year continued her great form, scoring in both games including the game-winner against UC Davis. Two players also earned top honors from the conference, as senior Dana Fujikuni was named the Big West Midfielder of the Year, and Sarah Maher was picked as the Big West Defensive Player of the Year. • Fujikuni was the fifth separate Beach player to win Big West Midfielder of the Year, and Long Beach State midfielders have now won the award seven times in the last 13 years. Her 0.96 Goals Against Average 0.51 Goals Against Average of 1.16 is the seventh-best in school history, and she finishes her career ranked 4th in saves, 4th in minutes in goal and 3rd in shutouts all-time at Long Beach State.     2006 Game Recaps October 29, 2006 ANTEATERS FALL 4-0 TO CAL STATE FULLERTON IRVINE, Calif. - The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (3-13-1, 0-7) lost 4-0 to Cal State Fullerton Sunday night in Big West Conference in the final match of the season for the Anteaters at Anteater Stadium. Brianna Buffington put the Titans up 1-0 in the 5th minute as she went on a breakaway to an open net following a miscue by the keeper. Buffington scored again in the 69th minute as she dribbled towards the endline on the left side of the box pulling the keeper out as she squeezed the ball between the post and a defender to put Fullerton up 2-0. Buffington completed the hat- trick as she again went down the left side and pulled the keeper out for an open net goal at the 72:00 mark. Kristen Boujos closed out the scoring in the 84th minute as she went into the right side of the box and got past the keeper and knocked the ball inside the right post to give the Titans a 4-0 lead. Sophomore keeper Erin Henry had two saves in the match for the Anteaters in 51 minutes of play. Freshman keeper Nina Ferrigno had one save in the first action of her career as an Anteater. Keeper Karen Bardsley had five saves for the Titans in 82 minutes. Keeper Kerri Ward had two saves in eight minutes for Fullerton. The Anteaters season ends with a record of 3-13-1 overall and 0-7 in Big West play.
