Regional Weather Inference And Forecast Monday, 17 July 2017 Morning Issue Time : 11.30 Hrs. IST Meteorological Analysis (Based on 0830 Hrs IST Observations) Weather Watch :-Heavy to very heavy rainfall occured at isolated places over Chhattisgarh. Thunderstorm observed at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha & Chhattisgarh. Very light to moderate rainfall occurred at most places Chhattisgarh, many places over Vidarbha and East Madhya Pradesh and at few places over West Madhya Pradesh. Monsoon Watch :- The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) continues to pass through Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Nagaur, Sikar, Hissar, Patiala, Kapurthala and Lat.31.5°N / Long. 74.5°E.

Inference:- The low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas of coastal Odisha and westcentral Bay of Bengal, now lies as a well marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal & coastal areas of Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh with associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 Km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It is very likely to intensify into a depression during next 24 hours. The trough at mean sea level from West Rajasthan to northwest Bay of Bengal now runs from northwest Rajasthan to eastcentral Bay of Bengal across south Uttar Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh and center of well marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal & coastal areas of Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.The off¬shore trough at mean sea level now runs from north Maharashtra to north Kerala coast. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Kutch & adjoining southwest Rajasthan and extends upto 1.5 km above mean sea level.An east¬west shear zone runs roughly along Latitude 21.0°N between 3.1 & 4.5 Km above mean sea level. The western disturbance as a trough in mid¬tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along Longitude 70.0° E and north of Latitude 32.0°N persists.
