Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) News Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Contact: DTC Marketing & Public Affairs April 12, 2017 [email protected] (302) 576-6005 DART Bus Route & Schedule Changes Approved to Become Effective Sunday, May 21, 2017 Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) announced changes to DART Statewide Bus Services have been approved to become effective Sunday, May 21, 2017. A summary of the changes includes (by County): New Castle County Weekday, Saturday and/or Sunday schedule times have been adjusted on most routes to improve on-time performance and connections, and/or re-routing. Route 1: Trips extended to Knollwood will be discontinued due to low ridership; select AM/PM peak trips have been consolidated for efficiency. Route 4: Trips extended to Prices Corner will be discontinued due to low ridership; AM/PM peak trips have been consolidated for efficiency. Route 7: Routing will change to no longer serve Wilmington Riverfront, instead serving ShopRite on S. Market St. Route 10: Additional evening trips will be scheduled. Route 11: Select AM/PM peak trips will be consolidated for efficiency. Weekday routing into Wilmington will follow Carr Rd. serving Rockwood Office Center on all trips, instead of Washington St. Ext., while trips to Rockwood and Arden will continue to use Washington St. Ext. The weekday trips to/from Arden that serve Lea Blvd., Tatnall St. and Matson Run will be discontinued with bus staying on Washington St.; the sole trip extended along Harvey Rd. to Philadelphia Pk. will be discontinued. Route 16: AM trips to Wilmington and PM trips to Newark will skip the I-95 Travel Plaza; additional AM service to Newark. Routes 18 & 30: Adjusted PM departure times from Rodney Square and Polly Drummond Shopping Center. Route 20: The 5:35 AM and 5:58 AM trips to Hockessin will be discontinued due to low ridership. Route 22: Two new evening trips will be scheduled from Rodney Square. Route 23: Additional weekday service will be scheduled. Route 24: The layover location at Pennsylvania Ave. and Riverview Ave. will be relocated to 4th St. and Greenhill Ave; select trips have been consolidated for efficiency. Route 28: An additional weekday trip will be scheduled at 6:46 AM from Amtrak Station and 7:30 AM from AstraZeneca. Route 33: Additional weekday service will be scheduled. New Sunday service will operate between Newark Transit Hub and Christiana Mall. Routes 34 & 39: Route 39 is being combined with Route 34. Express service will continue to operate during peak hours between Newark and Wilmington via DE 273; local service will connect Newark and Christiana Mall. Route 40: Additional trips will be scheduled. -more- Route 42: AM trips to Wilmington and PM trips to Peoples Plaza will skip I-95 Travel Plaza; additional rush hour service. Routes 44 and 53: Weekday trip time adjustments will be made. Route 46: Additional evening service will be scheduled to Peoples Plaza. Route 47: On Saturdays, the 4:30 AM trip from 9th St. at Market St. will be discontinued due to low ridership, and the trip departing Amazon at 5:30 PM will depart at 5:15 PM to match weekday service. Route 48: The 6:20 AM and 6:46 AM trips will be discontinued due to low ridership; new trip scheduled at 8:55 AM. Route 54: A new weekday trip will depart Orange St. at 10th St. at 6:25 AM; additional evening trips will be scheduled between Christiana Mall and Wilton. Route 55: A new weekday trip will depart Orange at 10th St. at 7:40 AM. The 4:08 PM trip from Newark will be extended to Amtrak Station; additional evening service will be scheduled between Christiana Mall and Newark. Route 59: Schedule adjustments will be made to meet adjusted SEPTA trains at Wilmington Station. Kent County GoLink Flex service will be discontinued due to no/low usage. Route 101: Improved service frequency to every 30 minutes on Saturdays. Route 105: Additional roundtrips will be scheduled to leave Dover Transit Center at 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM and 2 PM. Route 106: Trips leaving Scarborough Rd. Park & Ride will serve Delaware State University and no longer serve Dover Downs. Trip time adjustments will be made on weekdays. Route 108: Service will be extended to Persimmon Tree Lane, North Dover Center and Dover Mall. Weekday service will be reduced to operate hourly. New Saturday service will operate hourly from 9 AM to last departure from Dover Transit Center at 5 PM. Route 112: Routing will be expanded to serve Walker Rd., and the current Route 113’s portion of College Rd. and U.S. 13; and will no longer serve State St. between Walker Rd. and U.S. 13. Route 113: Route will be discontinued due to low ridership; Route 112 will serve all current stops north of Walker Rd.; Route 102 will serve stops south of Forrest Ave. Route 117: Time adjustments will be made to improve connections with Route 104. Route 119: Trips leaving Modern Maturity will travel from North St. to West St., no longer serving the Simon Circle community in that direction; customers can use Route 102 for service in that area. Route 120: Saturday service will be reduced to operate hourly. Sussex County Minor time changes will be made to improve on-time performance and connections. Route 206: Adjustments will be made during the resort season from May 21 to Sept. 10 to improve on-time performance. During this time, the bus will serve the new Lewes Park & Ride, not going into the town of Lewes, as seasonal Route 204 will be providing service to downtown Lewes every 30 minutes from the new Park & Ride; the route will terminate at the Rehoboth Park & Ride, not serving the Rehoboth Boardwalk, as Route 201 will operate between the Park & Ride and the Boardwalk every 10-20 minutes. After September 10, Lewes and Rehoboth Boardwalk will be served by Route 206. Route 212: Service will be reduced from 16 to 11 trips from Georgetown; and from 18 to 12 trips from Delmar/Laurel, operating from 5:15 AM to 11:05 PM. FLEX Route 903: Service added to Nanticoke Health Pavilion, and Seaford Public Library can be accessed via Flex service. -more- Intercounty - Fare will be reduced from $2.60/zone per trip to $2.00/zone; Daily Pass from $5.50/zone to $4.20/zone. Route 301: Express service from Smyrna to Wilmington will be scheduled on the 6:20 AM and 6:40 AM trips from Dover and the 4:40 PM express trip from Wilmington (Delaware & Adams), which would not serve Amtrak station or Odessa Park & Ride. Also, adjustments will be made to the present 4:40 PM trip to depart at 4:30 PM to accommodate riders from Amtrak Station and riders travelling to Odessa Park & Ride. Saturday schedule adjustments will be made. Route 302: A minor routing change will be made in Dover and additional mid-day service is scheduled. Route 303: An additional northbound trip will be scheduled at 1 PM. Seasonal Beach Bus – Weekend service begins Saturday, May 6 on Route 201, operating every 20 minutes between Lewes Park & Ride, Rehoboth Park & Ride and Boardwalk from 10 AM to 10 PM; and Route 208 operating every two hours between Rehoboth Park & Ride and Ocean City, MD. Full Beach Bus service begins Monday, May 22, operating daily from approx. 7 AM - 2 AM serving Lewes, Long Neck, Outlets, Rehoboth, Dewey Beach, Bethany, Fenwick Island and Ocean City.
